Our walk in the neighborhood turned up evidence that we humans have a sense of caring for one another. An anonymous person or persons left messages of hope throughout the Hamilton Greenbelt. This is the first of two parts since there are too many photos for one post.
We have all been here before. As a reminder, here is the entrance to the Hamilton Greenbelt.
We immediately see the first message.
A lovely little water feature greats you.

In honor of the benefactors of the greenbelt. Thanks, indeed.

With a message that may be more general than a specific day. Maybe the Earth has been reborn.

For some reason, I’m imagining that a couple of teenagers left those stones. Maybe the spelling of “shine brite” suggested it. In any event, they’re a neat addition, and smile-bringers, for sure. Before Easter, Catholics in a community on the other side of the lake put up stations of the cross in their front yards, for people who weren’t able to go to the churches. It was a neat thing to see, even for those who don’t share their tradition.

That’s really cool. Wonder if the Happy Birthday one was put in there just in case. Around here, people wandered out to the park for a birthday stroll.

Good morning, John. I like those gurgling little creeks, too, and I’m always happy when the usually dry creek at the end of our property has some water in it. I agree with you: it’s great to listen and just think – or dream.

Seems like a fun thing to do. I could go down Boise’s Greenbelt and change the whole meaning of this. “Don’t look behind you.” “Don’t slow down in this section.” “Did you hear that?” “Don’t be here after dark.”

How wonderful! I love finding rocks with notes of inspiration on them. Last week on my walk I went outside our gate and while toughing my way uphill I spotted something red in the dirt next to the sidewalk that shouldn’t be there and investigated- it was a painted rock! Painted like a ladybug and the words Jesus Love You painted on the back. It was a lovely gift and a reminder.
