This week’s view is of a special place. Since I am a member of the household that needs to stay home, The Producer bravely went to the event. She is the creative genius behind the photos.
Pots and Plants had a plant sale on Flamingo Drive in Lakeway, TX. They have a plant sale every March. This year it was extended into April. The flamingos have a storied past that included standing up to the city council when ordered to be removed. They were declared pieces of art and still remain. If you would like to read the whole story HERE is a link.
A signpost up ahead indicating the plant sale.
A far away shot of the pop-up (Flash) plant sale being held in the parking lot of an office building.
A little closer view of the rules. I think we all know the COVID-19 rules.
A shot of succulents.
A type of marigold.
Terrific looking annuals.
A collection of hanging baskets.

Some lovely plants there, John. 🙂 — Suzanne

A lot of plant sales have had to be rescheduled or rearranged this year. It looks like this folks did a good job of dealing with the situation, and they certainly had some lovely offerings for the plant-starved.

Yes. The report was the plants were very healthy. Thanks, Linda.

Well, the Producer sure did a fantastic job capturing the event. So many beautiful plants! Were any purchases made? Thanks for sharing. It looked like a picture perfect day!

She didn’t want to get that close to buy, so no. They did have an arrangement where you could go on line and then pay without touching anything but she didn’t have the time to wait. She had her eye on the hanging baskets but finally let them go. Thaks, Jill. 😊

I know many feel they can not go to their local nursery or home depot for plants just yet, but most all nurseries will deliver by way of UPS. That’s how I got my hydrangea and dieffenbachia.

First off, I have to ask, what are Kolaches? From the context of the sign, it would seem I could eat tel or three 🙂
We have garden centers opening here. I don’t know how they’re managing any type of distance. The Editor has planted coming from the sources she usually orders from. We might try one local garden spot, it’s never too busy.
Great photos. There’s hope for a nice summer in every one of those.
Enjoy the day, John. Take care.

Kolaches are a type of pastry that holds a portion of fruit or cheese surrounded by puffy dough. Originally of Czech origion but very popular in Texas. You could eat three easy. Thanks, Dan 😁

First off: Excellent job on the photos, Mrs. Producer!
Second off: Don’t those peeps in the centre look awfully close together? Maybe it’s just the angle of the photo…
Third off: OhMyGoodness – that flamingo story is a hoot and a half!

She did a great job. I thought the people looked close too. The flamingo story is terrific. Thanks, Dale

She did. And yes, they are way too close. That flamingo story… I love it. So kitschy – I can so imagine the all lying down “frozen to death” scenario! They seem to have a blast with it and the neighbours enjoy it so what is the harm?

Uh Boss? You might want to reference the name Wally Pipp, seeing as how he was the Yankees first baseman who sat out a few games after which a guy named Lou Gehrig took a turn . . .
Just kidding, of course. You and the Producer make a dynamic duo. 🙂

A conspiracy theorist and a landscaper were driving by the flamingo nursery. Conspiracy Theorist – there is nothing more scary than mob of fink plamingos massing for an attack. Landscaper – the whole thing needs to be wacked.

Great shots, John, and gorgeous flowers. I especially love the hanging plants. There is a house around the corner from us that has a huge magenta bougainvillea in the front. The plant climbs up the front of their house and it is gigantic, really spectacular. I’m still trying to figure out how I can sneak in a pic without being conspicuous. 🙂

Gorgeous hanging baskets. I’m working on making hypertufa pots for my garden. I drape fabrics over a mold (cheap pot) after saturating them in a slurry of concrete, vermiculite, pearlite, sphagnum moss, and s-type mortar. Once they cure, I paint them. Fun things to keep me busy without leaving the yard.
