Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy and Lucy at Chores

“Okay, gang. Who’s going to pick up the toys?”

Twiggy and Lucy

“Lucy. How about you?”

“To be honest, boss. I never played with them.”

“Twiggy? You have some work to do.”

“Aw, Dad. Why do I always have to do all the work?”

“Look at Lucy over there. She should have to do something.”

“I’m doing it, kiddo. I’m working hard at avoiding work.”

“Can you help me, please?”

“Okay, when you start moving, I’ll jump up and give you a hand.”

“Well, that’s no fair. How about if you move, and I’ll jump up and help?”

“Okay, Twiggy, we got everything picked up except this gingerbread person.”

“You are close, you get it.”

“Not how it works, Little one. It’s yours, you get it.”

“Sheesh. You are always pulling that logic quilt over my head.”

“All the toys picked up, Twiggy?”

“Yes. Lucy and I got them all.”

“Great, how about going outside?”

“I thought there would be a biscuit reward. Outside is very hot.”

“Okay, then. A biscuit it is.”

  1. These two are too much! And that darn “logic quilt” can be so pesky!😂 Talked to my mom yesterday and she said you all were really roasting, John. Stay safe and cool!

  2. For some reason, I’m remembering the days when I was told to clean up my room, and everything went under the bed. That worked for a short while, until Mom finally lifted up the bedspread. You might look under those sofas.

  3. The girls are so cute. It’s good to see that you’re a soft touch for a biscuit, John. Maddie up dumps her toy box, searching for something. We haven’t trained her to pick them up. I need to work on that.

    1. Rain would be so nice. Of course not a big amount, but when does that ever happen. If you want warm weather you get 39 degrees C. If you want a little rain you get a flood. Stay high and dry, Maria. 😁

    1. These two are pretty kind to their toys. We don’t throw them away since they keep coming back to them even if they sit for months. Your two are built to disassemble. Thanks, Craig.

      1. The old pit bull used to destroy his immediately. Obsessed with removing the squeakers. He’d play happily with the rags for months after that, so we’d let him.

  4. These kids sure know how to avoid the dreaded “clean up your mess.” A cute expression and sweet cuddle…yep, just what any mom or pop would like. Great photos and dialogue, John. ♥

  5. Lucy does pull the logic quilt over Twiggy’s head. Age and wisdom. Kudos to Twiggy for getting Lucy to help. The biscuit instead of the heat – good choice!

  6. I love their toy collection and how it continues to grow. After all that cleanup work they did, a biscuit reward sounds perfect. That Twiggy is a smart negotiator. 😉

  7. Aw, brings back some fond memories, John. In fact, I’ve still got some of Dallas’s toys gathered into one place — just don’t have the heart to part with them yet.

  8. I’m sure the girls are as good at cleaning up as my boys are…
And stay inside where it is cool! My goodness, we don’t need you overdone!

  9. Tell me PLEASE how you taught them to pick up the toys!!! The moggies leave theirs all over the house and never, ever pick one up and return it to the toy basket! Great job, Lucy & Twiggy!
