This week’s tour started out being about trees. Then a couple of things came up so it is now a bunch of stuff. We have stocked the bus with an assortment of goodies including crudities, fresh-caught snapper, red potatoes, green beans, and creme brulee. We are also serving called cocktails and drinks so you can order what you want.
Climb aboard the bus. We also have Kid Rock for entertainment. He brought a friend with him
The first stop is an oak tree starting to turn red.
Next is the first holiday decoration in the neighborhood and I’m sure in the neighborhood. Santa doing pull-ups on the eve trough.
Hey, I was wrong. A couple of grapevine reindeer.
A large golden crepe myrtle.
Not sure what this tree is but it is old and pretty. (Like me)
A young Crep myrtle in full color.
Another oak just starting to turn.
And so we come upon a hybrid. Thanksgiving, Halloween, and holiday all together.
Hold on. We need to wait for this family to get out of the way.
More crepe myrtles starting their gold imitation.
Turning oak.
Oak almost filled out.
Beautiful red berries.
Well, that does it for today. Stay and have some more food and listen to the music.

I suspect the hybrid home, the one celebrating all the holidays at once, might house some interesting future characters in a novel. 😁 Thank you for the chuckles and the scenes of beauty.

I used to live in an annoying HOA area so I know what you are saying. We don’t have an HOA but the city has some good rules. The big difference is if you violate the rules a guy or gal with a badge could show up. Very few rules are violated. 😁

I’d forgotten how pretty crepe myrtles are in the Fall — thanks for the reminder. And I’m delighted that your area is showing such lovely Fall color — everyone should share in the beauty of the season. Love the Santa — kind of looks like he, too, is barely hanging on in this squirrely year!

Nice potpourri today. The unidentified small tree could be a rain tree as their blooms and leaves turn in the fall. I like that people are already in the holiday spirit – bring it on.

The deer do have acorns. We collectthem in ouryard and toss them over the fence to them. They love acorns. 😊

Hmm…So, the deer help you so much! I wonder if reindeer like the acorns…🤨😐 You can make acorn jam or at least liqueur….They might be delicious… 😏

Goodness. I don’t know how to make any of those things. I will set a few acorns out on Christmas and see if there reindeer like them. If so,it may be a whole new way to get rid of them.

Thanks for the lovely tour, John! I enjoyed the decorations, but for the reminder that Christmas is getting closer by the day and I have yet to do the first bit of shopping or planning. I was hoping we could skip it this year, but the girls don’t agree. 🥺
