Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy’s Gotcha Day

Lucy and Twiggy

“Hey, Lucy, where you going?”

“I thought I would check to see if my Prime delivery is here yet.”

“Prime delivery? What did you get?”

“It is a surprise, Little One.”

“A surprise? Who are you surprising?”

“I should keep that to myself as well.”

“Look, is that a four-leaf clover?”

“I love your attention span. No, that looks like a weed to me.”

“I don’t know. There are four leaves, and it’s green.”

“Looks like Woodsorrel to me.”

“I still need to know who you are, surprising.”

“I’ll give you a hint. Who’s Gotcha Day is it?”

“Wait, I hear something. It’s the squeal of the Prime van brakes.”

“You sure?”

“Darn right, I’m sure. I’m an Olympic barker, and those Prime guys are easy targets.”

“Okay, I’m going to take your word. I have to go.”

“Gotcha Day? It’s my Gotcha Day. The surprise is for me.”

“Happy Gotcha Day, Little One. Now I really got to step on it. I still have wrapping to do.”

  1. How sweet to celebrate a pup’s Gotcha Day with a story! These two create a wonderful distraction from the worries of the day. Even Prime delivery trucks take on a mysterious charm. Happy Thursday, John. 😃

  2. I’m clearly the dumb one here, but… what’s a ‘gotcha day’? I grew up thinking “Gotcha!” meant someone had put a joke over on someone else — perfect for April Fool’s day!

  3. Happy Gotcha Day, Twiggy. I hope you and Lucy celebrate in style. If the Prime van is coming, it sounds like you’re getting a nice present!

Extra belly rubs for them today, John. Have a great day.

  4. I didn’t know what Gotcha Day was until I read it in your reply to a comment about it. I think it is a wonderful day to celebrate finding that Forever Home. I get excited when I hear the Prime van too.

  5. The great party is going to take place. What a wonderful thing! You know, dear John, what a coincidence! My budgie Gregory’s gotcha Day was the 1st April as well. The smartest pets appear in our life this very day. Happy celebrations & my greetings to Twiggy the Barkest! 🙂 🙂 🙂

  6. I never heard of Gotcha Day and thank goodness I know it now. It’s perfect, and Happy Gotcha Day to Twiggy! I wonder what the Amazon surprise was? A soft plush stuffie?

  7. Mother Nature did a gottcha last night and put the frosty white stuff all over and then added a brisk wind to make sure it is a and was spread thoroughly around. So we have been immersed in the day. The prime girls efforts are appreciated. And someone has done a gottcha on WP reader. The first 5 or so posts showed up. And then suddenly and quite magically subsequent posts were 3 days old. What is not to like ? At least I can enjoy re-hydrating in post platelet donation recovery. Oh look there is the Vodka blimp flying over head… and being whisked away on Mother Nature’s crisp April zephyr !
