Another Friday and another fast week. I love the refrain, “I just don’t know where the time goes.” It speaks so well for the current situation. But, of course, it is a refrain spoken mostly by the senior members of the population. I have to plead guilty as being included in that body of folks. But, just the same, I would like to have time to slow down a bit.
Our first summer is officially here in Central Texas. We have 90 degree days.
We just finished the Noad’s Ark phase of the seasons in Texas. Here is a chart giving you an idea of all the Texas seasons.

The weather is there whether w want it or not. Why not talk about it. As a rule our weather tends to go from Spring with added rain to Summer with added rain, well you get the idea. But currently it’s ben nice for about 10 days now with one minor hiccup lasting just a day. It’s miraculous. What a shame though that when the kids are on their Summer break they’ll no doubt get Summer with added rain. Thank you for the great explanation of the Texas seasons. at 100 degrees, no surprise it’s BBQ season too.

Seems like weather is quite mercurial wherever one resides. When I lived in New England, we used to say, “Don’t like the weather? Wait 5 minutes.” 😂 Have a great weekend, John!

We’ll be heading to AZ in a few days, where temps are rising, along with fires. Here in Branson, we’ve got the 90-degree weather that Texas has so generously shared. 😁 Loved your Haiku, John.

What a great chart from Joan. We’ve had humidity at. 78% this week. It’s not my favorite way to enjoy the warmer temperatures, but it’s better than freezing. 😉

I presume ‘Hell’s Front Porch’ is a euphemism for hurricane season. If it isn’t, I’m pretty sure the chart — amusing as it is — wasn’t made by a coastal Texan! There are mutterings already about the first of the season. We’ll see.

Hell’s Front Porch refers to the high temperatures. No, having survived Hurricane Harvey I don’t see anything funny about hurricanes. In fact I loved living on the coast except for getting the crap kicked out of us. (and the tourists) Thanks, Linda

When we had zero and below temps in February, I said I wouldn’t complain about the heat. I seem to have lied. Fortunately, our heatwave passed and we are sitting at 77 for a few days. I can deal with that.

We had your 90 degree weather all last week… or rather starting at the end of last week until Wednesday. It feels like so much of the earth was going through a heat wave!
And ain’t it the truth: time spins – I think I might have mentioned to you the comparison to a toilet paper roll – the close to the end, the faster is spins!

We finally got rain. We’d like to spread it out over the summer instead of getting it all in 24 hours. Our drought continues. Soon fire will be a weather pattern.

I knew there was a reason I could never live in Texas!!! We get, on average, 5-10 days when the temp reaches 90° and those are miserable enough … no air to breathe!!! Enjoy your summer … the pups will probably enjoy a sprinkler if you have one! And have a happy weekend, my friend. Loved the JohnKu!

We’re in “The Pollening” here right now and it’s been miserable for lots of us. Itchy, watery eyes, and sneezing all the time for me and almost everyone else I meet lately.
This coming week our temperatures are going up to the 100’s so I’ll be joining you on Hells Front Porch…except I’ll be finding a nice cool place to ride it out. I hope you do too! 😀

This cracked me up, John. The weather has been so odd this year in Oregon (and changing every year for the past 5 years) that I can’t even begin to categories our 13 seasons. Our 90 degree summer lasts about 3 days, but then we get the season of smoke. And our 8 months of rain. Funny how weather offers endless opportunities for entertainment… just don’t start a book that way. Lol. Have a great weekend.
