This post ran on Labor Day 2015. I thought it was pretty good advice, so here it is again.
***
In honor of Labor Day, I’ve decided to boil the top ten list down to the most important items. Let’s all remember those who make our lives easier and more pleasant. Of course, the remembrance includes we authors.
Top Ten Things Not to do on Labor Day
10 through 1
On Labor Day, have fun but do not drink and drive. If you do, at best, you are a fool. At worst, you could hurt or kill an innocent person, not to mention your guilty self.
Happy Labor Day, all.

Thank you for the reminder, John! I am sure you know, here we are celebrating Labor Day on the first of May. Another relic of the earlier, not so good times in Germany. But the Röm.-Kath. Church also celebrates the Mother of God on this day. 😉 Happy Labor Day! xx Michael

Still very good advice, John. I also like the meme.
I hope you’re giving yourself the day off. Did you put that ladder away?

I used it without incident and did put it away. 😊

Yeah, that’s the best advice you could give any day John. Too many drunk drivers out there hedging their bets…over ice.

Labor Day for us is 1st May, as some others have also commented. On the opposite end of the year, 120 days from the change of year. So, presumably, stop complaining about the cold and start about the heat 🙂 Which is, anyway, a year-long preoccupation for us.

It is always good to have something to complain about. The weather is perfect since no one has the power to change it.

It was supposedly the preserve of the Brits. But colonisation does leave marks here and there.

We threw them out but the complaint remained.
