Thursday – A Little Personal – Lucy and Twiggy in Battle (Sort Of)

“The Water buffalo can sense puma danger lurking— What’s the matter?”

“I don’t want to be a puma today. I just don’t feel it.”

“For heaven’s sake. What do you want to be then?”

“How about a crocodile? That would be fun.”

“Okay, whatever. The water buffalo senses a crocodile danger.”

“Wait. A water buffalo is too big for a crocodile to fight.”

“I can get that. Do you have a suggestion?”

“How about a sheep. That would be a good size.”

“It will have to be a sheep with horns. Let’s go to the living room for more space.”

“The ram can sense the crocodile danger. So he lowers his head to defend.”

“It still doesn’t seem right. Something is off.”

“I think I can play a ram very well. What’s off?”

“Isn’t a ram a boy sheep?

“Well, yeah, I suppose so. What’s the problem?”

“I don’t know. I can’t visualize you as a boy.”

“You know, sometimes you have to get out of your perceptional box and look broader.”

“Easy for you to say. You’re older with more experience.”

“Okay, then let’s pretend I’m an antelope. Some female antelopes have horns.”

“I think the moment has passed. So let’s go back to puma and water buffalo.”

  3. Here’s a combo for them. I was watching a wildlife documentary about Brazil yesterday. A jaguar successfully killed and dragged off a caiman (which I always assumed to be an apex predator). It would make a change from the puma/water buffalo scenario.

    1. Let me put that in Twiggy’s notebook and see how it flies. 🤣

  4. There seems to be a hiccup in the planning stages today. Perhaps it’s because they’re not outside roaming the veldt.

      1. Only as wild as their imaginations allow John., not where the real Pumas and water buffalos are I hope .I thought just where your jungle grasses are, in the garden.

  7. With her trouble with embracing the role of the crocodile, seems Twiggy is still stuck to her routine. Some just can’t embrace change.

    1. I think you have her pegged. Change is not something she likes to do. Thanks, Frank.

    1. More than she shows here. There are times when I’ll bet she would like to bat Twiggy into the stands, but understands the size difference. Her main method of control is to hold Twiggy down. Thanks, GP.

  10. Poor girls just need a fun day somewhere. Maybe a dog park.

    1. We used to go to the dog park but with Covid and some out-of-control dogs we gave it up. Lucy is not found of the park in her old age.

Give the girls ear scratches from me. It seems they had a rough day and need the attention. 😂

I loved this dialogue, John. I kept coming back to one scene with the beautiful golden glass plate behind the couch. The puma and water buffalo must be well trained about where they can play or not. My 4-legged and 2-legged loved ones never seemed to learn – though they taught me well. 😁
