When we see Christmas decorations, there is cause to ask, “What about Thanksgiving?” We just finished an outstanding Halloween so let’s see if we can find some Thanksgiving festive decorations. We are being catered by Lucky Robot of Austin. Our entertainment is Bob Seger ( I know he’s been here before, but we Detroit boys have to stick together.)

Let’s go.
Nice show of pumpkins.
One kind of turkey.
Another kind. (It looks like he’s been celebrating early.)
Looks like a happy display.
Harvest guard.
Our favorite lantern with friends.
Fall flowers and gourds.
Interesting pumpkin.
Yard celebration of the season
All wooden decorations. Handyperson house.
The flag says it all.
Awesome! I have to say that no one in our neighborhood has decorated for Thanksgiving. They all went right from Halloween to Christmas.

I know right? I thik people are pent up regarding holidays. Thanksgiving isn’t big enough for that emotion. Thanks, Annette.

I didn’t know there were decorations for Thanksgiving. They are Halloweeny but without the spooks.

So true. Thanks, Robbie.

I ate my NOMNOMIYAKI while I enjoyed the Thanksgiving tour. I haven’t seen anything around here. One neighbor actually put their Christmas lights up near the start of November, same time as my ‘favorite’ radio station went to full-time Christmas music!! 😏🙄😖

I do not like the radio thing. It’s okay the last week before but this early? Not so much. Thanks, GP.

Thanks for the tour, John. It’s fun to see the different ways people celebrate. I put up our fall decorations the second week in September. By the first week in November, I’m ready for Christmas so we are fully decorated! My father does ask “What about Thanksgiving?” For the past two weeks, I’ve been listening to non-stop Christmas music on our local radio station during my commute. I love it!

Wonderful displays, John. I particularly love the pumpkins. We had our pre-Thanksgiving meal yesterday. The turkey had defrosted so I went ahead and made a full meal – along with pumpkin/cranberry muffins. Grateful for family, nation, and you. Happy Thanksgiving. 🦃

A pre-Thanksgiving meal sounds wonderful. I echo your grateful list and do include you. ❤️

I particularly liked the mailbox toppers. My husband and I went out for a drive yesterday and saw no decorations. (Probably because we mostly kept to the back roads.)

Yeah the decorations are city slicker stuff. The country folk don’t go for it much.

My kind of brunch! Love the Thanksgiving decorations. You can play Bob Seger anytime. He´s one of my all-time favourites and this song is the tops.

I agree, Darlene. He has been a favorite of mine since he started.

I enjoy seeing Thanksgiving and fall decorations. And you can’t beat Bob Segar for this week’s entertainment.
Happy Thanksgiving, John!

Great view of the neighborhood, John! Nice to see people decorating for Thanksgiving. And Bob Seger got me going better than coffee. Have a good day.

Hold the bus while I opt out of the sushi and make a quick run to the local Cracker Barrel for their delicious blueberry pancakes. I love the blowup turkeys, esp the one who looks like he overdid the sushi…

Hahaha. I thought you would enjoy virtual sushi as opposed to gettig all cold running 20 miles to the Cracker Barrel.

20 miles? Well, I was hoping you’d drive me…maybe in the bus.

We can drive you of course.. Maybe next week we’ll just do Cracker Barrel.

PS. Loved Bob Seeger, one of my favorites, the few songs I know. I didn’t realize that he was a year older than I.

Yeah he is up there. Hahahaha.

I’ll confess it: I hate blow-up decorations. Now, a plywood turkey or a collection of pumpkins and squash? I’m there. And any radio station that dares Christmas music at this point gets turned off. So there!

Great pics. Christmas stuff is all over here with an occasional turkey. Looks like more Thanksgiving stuff than last year though.

I think people are tired of the COVID thing and are going all out this year.

There was a lot last year, but all Christmas. I meant I’m seeing a little more for Thanksgiving. Halloween was odd though because some people were still using covid to stop trick or treating.

Definitely nomnomiyaki with a mimosa! YUM! Definitely loved the slightly tilted turkey! We can’t have front yard decoration here (growl!) – if we did, we would be flying against the wind! 😉

Yes those POA rules are sticklers. Thanks, Noelle.

We rarely have autumn or harvest decorations here. Doesn’t help that our Thanksgiving is before Hallowe’en. And lots of Quebecers don’t even celebrate Thanksgiving at all! How weird is that?
Nothing wrong with a double-dipping of Bob Seger

Does seem strange not to celebrate. Maybe Bastille day is a bigger event.

Fun! I rarely see Thanksgiving decorations. My granddaughter talked me into one this year. I usually only have up my thankful tree.

Nice tour John. It will put me in the mood for pumpkin pie baking on Tuesday. There will be plenty of pies come Turkey day. Made from scratch none of that canned stuff. Yum.

What strange turkeys, dear John. They seem to have been celebrating Halloween.😂 & forgot the time. Indeed, the Christmas is coming. I’m crafting Christmas trees. 😁😁😁 Three items are ready, two more are in progress. Email you pictures later. Enjoy the Thanksgiving period. 🍗🍖🍗🍷🍷🍷

An eclectic selection of displays, John. I’ll pass on the sushi, but will take a mimosa. Love Bob Seger! Thanks for sharing.

Lots of great fall shots! I’m fascinated by the number of people with stonework or brickwork outside their homes. I think that’s less common where I live, but it’s a nice look. Where I grew up (the Dakotas), most of the homes have basements. All those tornadoes! We don’t have those, but earthquakes are not too far from the mind.

Yes. When I lived in California I very seldom saw stone. Mostly siding. I think stone would not take the undulating effect of earthquakes like wood siding.

I’ll try the NOMNOMIYAKI (I had to copy and paste)

I just listened to Against the Wind today! What a coincidence! I liked these decorations, John. I do think that one turkey has already begun the celebration 😉

Fun tour, John, and it’s not often we see Thanksgiving decorations around here, but we do have pumpkins out front and our fall flag flying. 🙂 Next weekend after Thanksgiving, we’ll be ready to get the Christmas decorations out. We’ll wait to get our tree until mid Dec. though, so it’s still good to New Year’s. Love the menu and music too!

Thank you, Lauren. Glad you liked the tour. We generally put up the tree the day after Thanksgiving.

Before I say we don’t do that kind of thing around here, I really should check myself. Because the truth is, I just really don’t pay attention to whether certain peeps are doing it. I just notice the Christmas decorations since they usually start early and are pretty festive.

Yeah, Thanksgiving decorations are not high on the list. 😁

Thank you, John. I’ll bet you had to work to find those Thanksgiving decorations in the midst of all the Christmas decor! We’ve got some of those same items (particularly the pumpkins and the inflatable turkeys) here. With all that’s been going on worldwide of late, I think we’d better NOT skip over Thanksgiving!

How fun and festive! I agree that one Turkey looks like he hit the eggnog a bit hard. 😂
There aren’t too many houses still decorated for Fall or Thanksgiving in our neighborhood but, a lot have already decorated for Christmas!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, John!

They wanted beef. They got beans!

I recently read an article about a local woman who purchases inflatable turkeys that weren’t bought the day after Thanksgiving to “save” them. She adds them to her yard decorations the next year with the others. I couldn’t even count the number from the picture in the newspaper, lol. Sure was colorful!

Glad I found a moment to check out your neighborhood tour, John. As always, it’s great to see so many of your neighbors celebrating autumn and Thanksgiving. I can’t say as I’ve seen anything like that going on around here, so there’s a blessing you can add to your list, if you haven’t already done so. Neighbors who celebrate each season! Love it!
Thanks for sharing, and I hope you are having a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving today!
