Since this is the last Sunday before Christmas, I thought it would be fun to cruise the neighborhood and take in some decorations. Also, since we are going out at night, I thought it would be good to have desserts. We are being catered by Spot in New York City. Our entertainment is Bruce Springsteen.
Choose from the menu
So hop on the bus and let’s go.
First, a stop at the Little Library, which is all decorated.
A giant figure in the front yard.
Probably CEO of the electric company.
A multicolored display.
A unicorn and color-coordinated lights.
Santa and elves. One in a helicopter.
I took this in the daytime. Pretty bland.
Look at it at night. A wowzaa.
Here is the purple house which you have seen many times decked out for the holiday.
A night view of the purple house.
Here is the gate decoration of a big ole single-family house.
A night view of the decoration. Notice the red nose on the longhorn.
That’s it for this year.
The Producer, Twiggy, Lucy, and I wish you a very Merry Christmas. Now relax, have some food and listen to Bruce sing Santa is Coming to Town.
Very nice! My husband and I will be going out to see the lights on Christmas Eve.

Hard to pick the best because they’re all fantastic. Don’t you love blowups? I’ll try the brûlée. Have a Merry Christmas, John.

Merry Christmas, Steve. I love to see the difference from the flat ones to fully displayed. 🎄

Yes, I agree. And the latter is better, although the former can be funny.

Spectacular displays, John. I bought a Christmas light rope this year and my whole family laughed and said I was turning into an American.

So many inflatables this year, don’t you think? It’s better to see them at night, they are a little sad during the day. Thanks for picking Bruce – you know I’m a fan, right?

I think we all are fans. Thanks, Barbara.

Dear John,
isn’t it amazing how our different cultures moved away from each other? The idea of what is beautiful is so different.
We love driving around to other villages looking at their Christmas decorations.
Thanks for showing all these decorations

Since I’m late today, I snacked on the coconut monkey bread while I oohed and aahed over the decorations (Except the deflated figures – which is what I’m used to seeing here!)

This is good to see. People have been pretty demure around here for a couple of years. Maybe we can start moving toward a better era.

The Longhorn pulling Santa’s my favorite. The keepers of the unicorn need to put that one away for a different holiday; as soon as I figure out which one, I’ll let you know.

What’s not to love about this Christmas edition? The menu is superb, the neighbors are right out of Currier and Ives, and the Boss is sending us off into the week with a classic holiday keeper.

I just adore the little library and can’t say I’ve ever seen a pink unicorn Christmas decoration. But my favorite has to be the dragons – I’d love to have them in my yard.

The Christmas lights are impressive, dear John. I wonder who is to fix them? I suppose that it is a true adventure to climb up to the roof yourself. 🙂 🙂 🙂

There’s nothing like cruising the neighborhood listening to “The Boss”. Great shots of Christmas spirit, John, though the second photo brought back the “Let It Go” earworm from the Frozen movies. 🙂
