Our first stop is an armadillo we have seen before. He has a new sombrero and looks very distinguished.
Here is a new one. I call it the Hangover.
Let sleeping dogs lie. (The truth is overrated)
How about a flying pig or at least a pig with wings.
A blue turtle.
A naked armadillo.
Bluebird of happiness.
Siesta time.
The fox who had ice running off his nose last time now sports a plaid ribbon.
Here’s Bevo, the mascot of the University of Texas, in a different pose. I think the owner is upset at UT’s loss to Baylor that kept them out of this year’s Championship game (Which Baylor won against Oklahoma State.)
So relax and enjoy the food and music. I hope you have a great week.
I stopped looking for a favorite since they all rock. Excepting for the hangover mailbox topper since, well . . . too close to home.

Ha ha ha . It just looked to me like the left over from one heck of a 4th of July party. Thanks, Marc.

They are all wonderful, especially the flying pig. Thanks for a bit of Mick on a cloudy cool Spanish Sunday! (Was he ever that young??)

One day I’d like to hear how Mick owed you one!
I chomped on the shrimp and grits while we took our ride. I like the idea of ‘when pigs fly’ but I think he needs a paint job. But they’re all cute.

Most do need a paint job, I think. Thanks, GP.

These are fun, John! Love the armadillo in the sombrero. Very festive! We had one in our yard this morning in the pre-dawn hours, but he wasn’t sporting any snazzy headwear.😉

I was on a bike ride two days ago and one was crossing the street. No snazzy hat either. Thanks, Lori.

I laughed at the armadillos. When I lived in Branson, people blamed the growing armadillo population on Texas. They are curious animals for sure. Thanks for the walk-bys and the breakfast enticements. Hope all is perfect in your world. 😊

Well ‘perfect’ is a high bar. Let’s say all is good. Thank you, Gwen. Can you imagine an armadillo walking from Texas to Missouri or getting into Texas luggage?

I know, right? 😂 I don’t even think they can run. They are very interesting creatures.

I loved the armadillo wearing a sombrero. And was Mick Jagger ever that young? 😀

I know. He is two years younger than me so I have the same question about myself. Thanks, Joan.

You gotta love Mick Jagger. Still great after all these years, too. I still love the armadillo and sleeping dog. Nice post and great spirit in your ‘hood. Oh, give me the French toast with hot maple syrup (just like Cracker Barrel does)…

Poor Bevo. I don’t follow college sports much, and I really don’t have a thing against UT, but I confess I grinned a little when I heard that final score.

These mailbox toppers are always entertaining, but your comments are what make the post! I like the bluebird of happiness and the fox. That hangover one is definitely a statement topper. Thanks for sharing!

Yes it is a statement. Mason jar and tattered flag. Sounds like debauchery to me..Thanks, Barbara.

I love the armadillo in the hat. I wish we had mailboxes here so I could decorate, But we have a wall of mailboxes and anything on a single mailbox would probably be stolen. Boo.
For a yummy breakfast, I will have a biscuit without gravy, but with avocado and an egg!

Okay then. A very healthy breakfast. Our last community was a bunch of mail boxes. A long walk for sure.

We could use a bluebird of happiness about now. You and Jagger share some of the same moves- did he teach you a thing or two? 🙂
