This week we are going on a scavenger hunt sponsored by the Lakeway Parks and Recreation. Here is some information about the hunt.
26 shark pages are hidden along the walking trail at Lakeway City Park. One for each letter of the alphabet! You will find them along the sidewalk from the upper level, through the butterfly garden, around the lower level, and across the lookout point. If you want to know more about each shark, just expand the photo.
Use the answer key to unlock a secret message! Simply write the GREEN letter next to the corresponding number on the answer key to begin.

We will be catered by Forthright Cafe, and our entertainment is The Kings of Leon.
The menu includes anything you want to drink.
Americana breakfast – two Vital Farms free-range eggs, sourdough toast with house-made seasonal jam, garlic butter herb roasted red bliss potatoes & your choice of bacon, pork sausage patty, chicken sausage patty, or avocado.
Chilaquiles Verde – fried corn tortillas tossed in roasted salsa Verde, cotija cheese, charred poblano peppers, hominy, black beans, pickled red onions & two Vital Farms free-range eggs made sunny-side up.
Hash al pastor – smashed & fried red bliss potatoes, chipotle salsa, al pastor pork, onions, corn, black beans, poblano, blistered tomatoes & two sunny eggs.
Oyster mushroom hash – (v) roasted blue oyster mushrooms, fried red bliss potatoes, onions, corn, avocado, black beans, cherry tomatoes, tossed with chipotle salsa, served with vegan eggs.
JNL benny – smoked pastrami made in collaboration with Ben Lambert of JNL barbecue, two poached free-range eggs,& hollandaise on a toasted English muffin
Biscuits & gravy – fluffy house-made buttermilk biscuits with pork sausage gravy
Chicken & waffles – two boneless fried chicken thighs, honey butter, pecans, maple syrup, powdered sugar
Brunch burger – smash burger on a brioche bun with bacon bourbon jam, American cheese, avocado mash, and fried egg served with french fries.
Breakfast melt – two scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese and chipotle mayo on a brioche texas toast served with red bliss potatoes and with your choice of protein; bacon, pork sausage, fried chicken, ham, or avocado.

The Nurse Shark’s pretty common down here — I hear fishermen talking about them now and then. Those other species? It’s probably just as good they’re from different times or places!

A fascinating animal, with some interesting behaviors, such as “sleep swimming.” And there are so many species, I guess over 500 species of shark.

Give me the Americana, I’m starved. So impressed with the spirit in your hood. Who are these bands that draw such massive crowds? Never knew there were so many varieties of sharks.

After the 2012 Sharknado in Indiana, we have been plagued by Land Sharks. Worse than the Asian Carp.

Great way to learn about sharks and get out for a walk too. Lakeway always has something good.
As you saw, I can comment! Thanks for your suggestion. Husband did that and something about cross sites someone else suggested. He is my live-in tech support so he helped me trouble shoot this morning. I was surprised when my “Test” when through. So far I can like/comment on most posts. We’ll see if it holds. WP was no help.
Rain started during the night and is still with us. So far almost two inches! My rain barrels are full! Thanks for being a helpful friend, John. All the best to you next week – hope the 2nd goes well too.

Loads of fun, John!!! I had to pass on breakfast, for I had already eaten half an egg sandwich and couldn’t hold any more, but it all sounded yummy! I had no idea there were so many varieties of sharks! I was only aware of a few of them. I am still pondering the answer key … perhaps I can figure it out before next Sunday. Thanks for the fun and have a great week ahead!

Once I saw the subject matter of sharks, I had to make sure of my wife’s location before reading on. The woman has absolutely no fear of anything…except sharks. With “Shark Week” commercials running for about a month, let’s just say it is always a challenge keeping the subject from coming up…let alone coming through our television. Happy Sunday, John.

That Frilled Shark is funky! And the Kitefin shark looks like a vessel. The Xenacanthus, I’ve never heard of that one. And the Quagga Catshark looks like a torpedo.
