Today, we are attending the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Lakeway Sculpture Garden. The construction of the garden and the footbridge have been projects conceived and led by the Department of Parks and Recreation. We are catered by the Salty Sow of Austin. Our entertainment is Rick Nelson.
I make my own crispy fries, so I’ll try the cheeseburger while I listen to the music, (Rick Nelson, you’ve been a long time gone, but not forgotten). Are there many more sculptures?
Those are some fantastic sculptures, John, in a really nice park. It was great to see Wolfman Jack and Ricky Nelson doing one of my favorite songs back then. That’s quite the footbridge! The crane sculpture brought to mind the Gankaku Dachi, the Crane on the Rock stance. 🙂
Yet another fun event in your area, John. I enjoyed the tour and the sculptures, and even the giant, pink scissors. Thanks for sharing, and have a super rest of the day and week ahead!
😀 ❤
That looked to be a perfect Day for All there John… loved all of the photos.. Thank you for including us as you toured the Sculpture Garden…. May many enjoy in years to come ❤ 🙂
That’s a nice improvement to the foot bridge, John. And I’m glad you included the community orchestra! I don’t notice a lot of Fall color yet, but I suppose it’s too early for that where you are. Thanks for another lovely outing!
What a fun event, John! I wish our town would do the same. I love the sculptures, but since I’m a day late, are there any carnitas left? A day old is fine. 🙂
Your community has such lovely public facilities and parks! A wonderful asset…🥰

There is one other which I forgot to photograph. It is a heron by the creek.

The tsuru-dachi is a great imitation of the crane.
