Thursday – A Little personal – An Update on Twiggy

“There she is. How are you feeling?”

“Pretty much like I’ve been kidnapped for my liver.”

“Well, you have been through a tough procedure.”

“Can’t say it is something I want to do every day.”

“How about your Benny Bone?”

“Let me give it a smell test.”

“Didn’t pass the test?”

“Somehow, Benny has lost some of his appeal right now.”

“Folks can view your shaved body and bandage that will come off today.”

“They can also see I’m like a bird in a gilded cage.”

“Come on, the time will go quickly. You are not allowed to move around a lot.”

“When do you suppose the Screws make their rounds?”

“There are no Screws. It’s just me and Mom.” Did you look at your stitches?”

“I’m still perturbed at the tape pulling. How do they look?”

“Your surgery place looks great.”

“I wonder if I can get someone to bake a cake with a file.”

  1. Poor sweet Twiggy. I hope she gets her freedom soon. I’d love to bake a cake for her and deliver it in person. Give her a snuggle from me and alick from Dot and Lia. neither one of them would handle this situation well.

  2. Ahh, she’s got her spunk back. That’s a sure sign that she’s on the mend. I’m relieved all went well with the surgery. Day by day a little better, right?

  3. So glad Twiggy is healing nicely. I had to laugh at the file in the cake. I’m sure she’s ready to resume her regular life. Me too. I get my stitches out today, so we are kindred healing spirits. 🙂

  4. Good to read Twiggy is healing well. Although it’s tough being penned up, it will only make freely going outside all the sweeter when it happens! Patience little one💕

  5. Oh, the little drama queen! So glad she did not lose her sense of humor…or sarcasm. I wouldn’t turn my back on her once the sutures are removed, though.

  6. Oh, Twiggy. It’s not easy being a patient, is it? You know it’s for your own good. You want to still be able to hunt, right? Well, to do so, you must be in tip-top form! You’ll forget about your “gilded cage” in no time…

      1. I understand, Miss Twiggy. It is extremely difficult to be patient when it’s just not part of your genes!
I hope you do because the more you rest, the sooner you can be your old self.

  7. Twiggy is looking good after the surgery. Here’s to a speedy recovery and back to adventures in the yard. This healing phase is as hard as going through a surgery with our fur babies. Hugs, and belly rubs for sweet Twiggy! 📚🎶Christine

  8. Poor Twiggy. I feel for her and can’t fathom having to restrict movement while healing. Tell her she looks great anyway and will be up and about before she knows it. Thanks for the update, John!

  9. Though I am not experienced in pets, your pictures and text brings out the difficult time she is going through well. I hope she gets rid of the bandages when they need to go and is back to her usual self soon.
