Thursday – A Little Personal – Playtime

“I see you have a few of your toys here in the playpen.”

“Yes but not as much fun as Twiggy.”

“Oh come on. Give that noisy disk a squeeze.”

“I do like the sound.”

“Look Twiggy has come out.”

“Yeah, I’ll leave you two to play.”

“Twiggy. Over here.”

“I hear you, Little One.”

“What’s that in your mouth?”

“It’s the fish toy.”

“I thought that toy was in here with me.”

“I think Mom changed it out for others.”

“Well it is a fun toy  for sure.”

“Yes I am enjoying it.”

“Can you bring it in here?”

“Mmm afraid not. Mom doesn’t want me in there.”

“This purple toy is good. Why doesn’t Mom want you in here?”

“She thinks you need your own space. ”

“Well sometimes it is nice to have my own space but it is fun to run in the yard. Can you break me out of here?”

“Gee I don’t think Mom would like that. You continually pick up sticks and leaves. You could choke on all that stuff.”

“Yeah but we could play.”

“I think we need to wait a little longer for you to get older before you have a run of the yard.”

“You sound like Mom.”

“Because I agree with her.

  1. Ahhh, the puppy days, where anything that’s not tied down goes in their mouth, bathroom breaks are sudden and random, and there are two speeds: full on and flat out. 😂 They are cute, but speaking as one who has just reached the one-year mark with the new puppy in our household, maturation can be a HUGE relief. Enjoy, John, it passes oh so quickly….

  2. I love that Twiggy is now using the term “Little One” on her little sister. That last picture of Tempeste is adorable.

The wisdom that has fallen upon Twiggy is amazing to see.

    1. She is learning to tolerate Tempeste. All her training moves Tempeste doesn’t seem to get so we still have to keep a close yey on them when they are rough housing. Thanks, Auntie Dale.

      1. It can’t be easy, being the bigger one, eh Twiggy? Tempeste has a LOT to learn! Just try to be patient and in the meantime, Mom and Dad must keep a close eye on the two of you!

  3. Looks like Tempeste is already growing! I had to smile at Twiggy calling her little one. A sweet memory of Lucy and Twiggy.

  4. Ah, Twiggy the wise. She learned well from Lucy. Lucy would be proud of her. Tempeste sounds like a real tempest! But that last picture is a winner – what a cute little button.

        1. It’s the same for everyone, no matter who you lose. I remember for 10 years I couldn’t watch Bill, or even look at a picture. I’d ask a friend to put one up on my blog when I wrote about him. Now, I’m fine. It’s how grief works. Lucy was like another daughter to you and truly a sibling to Twiggy.

  5. Just like “people siblings,” these pups need to be taught how to play nicely together. Looks like the playpen is a great solution for that. Tempeste is going to turn heads — she’s got the puppy-dog-eyes look down pat!

  6. It’s fun to see Twiggy calling Tempeste “Little One.” Also for admonishing her on picking up sticks in the yard (I seem to recall Lucy telling a younger Twiggy that not everything in the yard was fair game).

The fish toy looks almost real. And that last photo of Tempeste is adorable to the nth degree. What a cutie!!

    1. The fish toy look real for sure. It flops like a fish but we had to take that mechanism out since Twiggy tore a hole trying to get the fish to stop. Thank Mae. We are enjoying the puppy a lot. 😊

  7. Twiggy, you are so cute with your fish toy.

So Tempeste is eating twigs and things. Hopefully she will learn fast, and not have to be in the pen. She does look a bit forlorn (and totally cute). Of curse you know what being in a pen is like.

    You and mom are right!

I suppose dad has nothing to do with this?

    1. Dad would let her run free and wild. He says sticks and leaves are organic. Thank you Miss Resa for the message of support. (obviously a penned up Tempeste is a good Tempeste. 😄X😄X😄X😄X

    1. Well when you have one eating everything in the yard something has to be done. It is only until the new teeth come in. When they are in the house they can play together.

  8. John, when did the new pup arrive. My WordPress is acting strange since it became JetPack and I don’t seem to be getting everyone’s feeds in a regular basis. I feel like I’m a little behind. You know, trailing the pack.

        1. Pups can do that. We stilled referred to Daisy as our ‘pup’. My wife wants another dog but that won’t happen until she can bend, a necessary requirement when walking your dog in the neighborhood for obvious reasons. I still tie her sneaks when she goes walking which she does daily, at least twice.
