Very nice collection on display this week, John. My favorite is the Texas Toad. I think I’ll try the Cochinita Pibil.

Yes. I was struck by the same thought, GP. A lot of folks are moving to Texas, and it is a good tutorial for them.

Yes. They are seen quite often, too.

Feral hogs are supposedly really dangerous. Hope the sign warns people not to pet them.

Interesting display. We have a lot of the same critters here, but you have some very different ones, too.

I think we have some that need a warm winter to survive

We have some armadillos here…sadly mostly on the side of the road.

They have a habit of jumping straight up in the air when startled. Not the right move under a car.

Such a lovely community. I enjoy your walkabouts. Thank you for sharing!

It’s been a perfectly lazy day. Sat outside under the gazebo all day listening to neighbours work on their houses (I’ll be so glad when they are done!) and read, and ate and scrolled! Big time lazy

I’m partial to the pollinators — they won’t eat me!! Still, the coyote is kinda cute, in a doggie sort of way.

Yes, the coyote is cute when he’s not hungry. 😊

Such an array of fascinating and cool critters in your area. And a very nice menu as well.

Yes indeed. We do eat well here. I prefer not to meet up with some of these creatures in person. The last time I ran into a coyote he almost jumped straight up in the air. Not good too scare innocent animals like that.

It looks like those dung beetles have their shit together. Anyway, that’s a lot of animals. We have several of those animals here in Dallas too. There are Coyotes as well as Bobcats roaming our neighborhood (north Dallas).

John, I’m thrilled to see that there’s a sign for “Decomposers and Scavengers.” I never thought much of these insects until we watched a PBS show on them. Goodness, if it weren’t for these insects, we’d be overcome by waste and … well … animal poop!

Okay, but they are sooo cute!
There have been complaints about them attacking small dogs. Still, I can’t bear to sign the petition allowing their riddance by killing them.

They are a part of nature. People ought to keep their small dogs on a leash and not walk at night. 😀X
