The Best Workday Is as The Best Workday Does

cacfriday5

Friday is the day we have been waiting for. We started out the week on Monday and made some personal notes to self that we would never ever party like a rock star again. Look at us today. We are working our duff off so we can go out tonight for another meeting of the Bacchus Brothers Social Club. WHAT IS WRONG WITH US ANYWAY?  Did we not learn a valuable lesson last week? Did we not make it home in one piece? Did we not swear to the ceramic deity that we would never cast major dispersion onto the still waters again? Yet here we are looking anxiously forward to another Friday night and weekend. I think insanity has been described as repeating the same action expecting a different outcome. Okay so here is a question:

How many think that the number of drinks we had last week will not produce the same effect as before is we do it again this week? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? *Crickets*

I thought not. Of course the answer is, the same number of drinks in the same amount of time will produce the same results. You know  the results:

  • Speaking into the ceramic microphone.
  • Calling train arrivals such as, “Poughkeepsie,” and “Pittsburg.”
  • Walking around with a headache so big you wish for bolt of lightning to take you out.
  • Hands shaking so bad people think you’ve got at least three of each.

Well, since we never learn, here is a little Haiku to help you through the weekend.

Yesterday is not too clear. . .

Tomorrow is life.

Have a great weekend.

One of the things about my life I am most proud of at 32 is that I have never yet been drunk. Like you I wonder at people who put themselves through that self-inflicted torture on a regular basis.

As you can imagine the youthful brain makes poor choices. Good for you. Thanks

Ceramic microphone has to be the greatest thing I’ve read/heard all week. Pure genius.

Thanks Charles. I figure if I get a Mensa member to smile I got it made.:-)

That’s a pretty good goal. I hear they have pretty high standards.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. That’s how the A A’ers describe it at my husband’s meetings. Some people just never learn.

I’m just glad Friday is here and nearly over. As for the ceramic microphone … been awhile since I talked into that, but now it takes less to get the headache. Here’s hoping I make it to yoga class tomorrow AM 🙂

Since I’m now a conservative and dedicated writer (which means solitary and no one to go drinking with) I keep my Friday to one Margarita (in a pint mason jar) so I feel great! Thanks.
