Thanksgiving Eve is as Thanksgiving Eve Does

Thanksgiving

Wednesday seems to come quicker every week. I guess that is a good thing considering it is the first time in the week we think about being able to make the weekend. This week is kind of special in it is Thanksgiving Eve. I’m not sure anyone really thinks of a particular day in this manner. Hey, it is better than just letting the day before Thanksgiving go by without notice. In honor of Thanksgiving Eve I’m going to tell a little story on Fiction Favorites about “The Night before Thanksgiving.” Before I start, I need to set the mood. Ready? Okay here goes; a nice fire is in the fireplace, cats, dogs, kids and family gathered around.  Cranberry scone and a mug of hot pumpkin spice toddy (give me some slack, this is fiction) is in your hand. The CD player is set up with one-hundred of your favorite Thanksgiving songs and the soft Thanksgiving lights are twinkling on the Thanksgiving tree. I think we are there. Here is the story:

The night before Thanksgiving,

All around the place.

The family has gathered,

In every inch of space.

The turkey is soaking,

To thaw in water base.

The drinks, food are bought,

Stored, guarded by mace.

Teenagers seem quiet,

New games of face?

Mother-in–law has advice,

Need a fly to chase.

Dad in the cups,

Never liked that vase.

Sis is complaining,

Husband left, no trace.

Still it’s good,

Thanksgiving embrace.

Happy Thanksgiving y’all.

Really captures the holiday spirit. I’m impressed there’s 100 Thanksgiving songs.

This is great. I am doing spaghetti-o’s with my pooch. The boys are with their dad this year and, well, no one else to be with. It’s good though, I will spend it with my true friends – on WP. xx

Let me wish you a good one then. Spaghetti-o’s, pooch and WP will be peaceful. (no leftovers to worry about either) I had the old trade holidays thing as well with two kids. All kidding aside, I will think of your tomorrow.

My husband is doing a car parts swap meet for four days in Daytona with his son, so I will go to my daughter’s for dinner. Nice for a change. I can take a plate for my husband and leave when I feel like it. 🙂

Happy Thanksgiving, John. Be sure to slip your food/drink guard a little green so you get first dibs on everything.

Hahaha well done– now, we must compare lists of our top 100 Thanksgiving songs some time and see if we share any of the same ones.

At this point I was rushing back to get what I needed from a store so that my mum could finish dinner and then we realised she never turned the oven on so it was going to be late. Then i was in a mad dash to get the kids and do something with stuffing and rush back to a hotel and try to do some other stuff and British people don’t celebrate Turkey day anyway.

    It was insane. I’m tired.

    Happy you survived.
