Friday TGIF JohnKu

Friday for the most of us means the week is coming to a close. I guess I can’t help but feel good about that. I was pretty much knocked out by the conference I attended all last weekend and am looking forward to a nice cold margarita and a chance to take it easy on the veranda. I need to write another 1000 words today before I rest, but am still looking forward to it. The nice thing about hard work is an opportunity to kick back and relax after you have done it. This is the subject of my JohnKu (a term coined by Words4jp). It is titled Work and Rest and I hope you find it pleasant.

Work and Rest by John W. Howell © 2014

Work must be finished,

And recorded as complete. . .

Then rest has value.

Very wise words. Especially the recording of completion. Don’t want to return on Monday to find no evidence that you did last week’s work.

Your haiku is so true, John. Kind of a slap to the back to go get something done this morning, so I can relax without regret later.

Glad the conference was rewarding. A margarita around the corner is already well deserved.

Thank you so much Audrey. I want you to know your good bye post touched me deeply having lost a dear friend recently.

Thank you for telling me, John. I appreciate every minute she and I had together this visit. I like the person I become when she’s around. She’s that friend who has a way of finding me when I’m locked away and introverted. I’m so sorry for your loss, John. I will keep you in my prayers.

An appropriate Johnku John. It sounds like your margarita has been well earned this week. How did the San Francisco writers conference go?

Margarita with a dash of HUG. The conference kept you busy. Good stuff!

Sam, a haiku and a margarita on the verandah – all most excellent reflections on the art of living well through another week!
