The workplace Blog Hop post by Charles Yallowitz is intended to get some perspective of what our workplace looks like. You can read his post HERE
I have just recently moved my workplace from the dining room to an actual space which I can call my own. So I am very glad to show you all around.
Here is a picture of our cat Frankie waiting on my desk. One would think he is waiting to greet me and to wish me a joyous day of writing. No, what he really wants is to get fresh water from my glass and walk on my keyboard. The windows open to a view of a pond in the rear of the house. This is a third-floor location so the view also includes the Corpus Christi bay which is barely visible through the houses. Here is a photo of the view. The owl is not a pet, but is standing guard over the mourning doves.
This last photo is another view of the desk. The two doors off to the right lead out to the porch where some serious suntan and snooze time can be had. Needless to say, I don’t often go out there.
The item I can’t do without is music. I write while listening and it seems to keep me focused on my work. I especially enjoy Queen and have every one of their songs on a rotation. I also have a number of other favorites and basically hit shuffle. My iTune library is quite large and covers the sixties to present. Now for my nominees:
Now for my Tagees:
I need music too. So, that owl is to scare off birds or something? I saw them all over the place in the south and thought they were like garden gnomes.

Yes they scare off the mourning doves

Less poo on the porch! Lovely view. I would get dizzy up there. I don’t fear heights as much as am affected by them. I’m a total silence writer. I love music and play it often when I’m not writing. Crazy about Jimmy Buffett and Pink Floyd and Yanni. I know, weird combination.

Jimmy and Pink Floyd not too weird. Yanni? yes.

Of course the cat NEVER wants to be on the desk when you are using it.

Love your desk and the view. What’s your favorite Queen song?

I have several, but Bohemian Rhapsody has to be number one.

I know! It’s amazing how that song changes.

Well, I’m glad I stopped in…thanks for thinking of me, John. I will have a sit down tomorrow over my work space. Goodness…such pressure.
You have a perfect space. I have space envy.

Even if you sit in the backyard on a box, your writing is the greatest.

I’m with Audrey on the space envy. My workspace is a disaster … seemingly permanently under construction. Of course, with your view, I might never get any writing done … it would be hard to turn my eyes away 🙂

Thank you Marie. I think you did one of these before. Am I right? if not I think you should.

You know, I can’t remember if I did one of my writing space. I remember posting pictures of my workplace … If only my workplace was my writing space 😉

Ah. I think at the time you could do more writing there.

[…] I’ve been asked to participate in a work place blog hop by our friend, John W. Howell. I know many of you already know him and find as much delight in his creative ways as I do. Have you purchased Johnny’s novel My GRL yet? You should, if you’re a crime fiction fan of any sort. He’s on my TBR list, but I fear he’s beginning to question the truth behind that admission. I adore his short stories and weekly haiku, as well. He has the best sense of humor and often brightens my day so stop by and say hi, if you can. This hop was created to showcase a writer’s writing space. You can read his post here. […]
