Friday JohnKu TGIF

Friday at last. This week feels like it has been a long one for sure. I guess whenever I have to travel away from this island the week seems to take forever. I only had a trip to San Antonio on Monday, but for some reason it feels like it was longer ago than just five days. Just shows to go what a little out of the normal activity can do to the perception of time. This week’s JohnKu (a term coined by Words4jp) is about normal. It is titled Routine. I hope you like it

We seldom adjust,

Unless there is something big . . .

Pulling at comfort.

Interesting. Ever feel like time doesn’t always run at the same pace? Almost like it isn’t as stable as we think. Though most people say it’s the perception of time, but it would be cool to learn that we have some mental control over our own time pocket.

The concept of a time pocket in itself is interesting. This needs some additional study. I can see a character either having a time pocket or being the only one without. Hmmmmmm.

Without sounds like a more interesting idea. How would such a person live in a world where everyone can control their own time speed? Maybe he finds a way to borrow a time pocket or he’s treated like a ghost.

Sounds like Logan’s Run or The Prisoner. Though I never saw those, but know vague stuff about them.

Perfect, John. Seems like the older I get, the more “stuck” in my routine. At least, the more time I need to adjust to change. Well, I say the older I get, but I suspect I’ve always been this way 😉 Happy Friday!

I think as we age we simply drop some of the control mechanisms and allow our natural selves free reign. Have a great weekend Marie.

I can’t remember if it was Beckett or someone else who had a character who wanted to slow down time, so he had himself tied up in bed facing an enormous clock on the opposite wall. Not sure that’s such a good idea…

H.G.Welles had the time machine also. Didn’t work out too well.

San Antonio’s River walk is sooo beautiful. Wish it was within driving distance from me. My honey has been OOT for two weekends in a row and was in Boston all week 😦 It’s been lonely and the time moves so slowly.

We used to do some of the riverwalk stuff. My office was right on the Riverwalk and I used to sit out during lunch. Wonderful.

Comfort is often the enemy of progress. But… but it’s so darn comfortable! Happy Friday John.

I agree about the perception of time John. Whenever I travel time passes much slower. It is far superior to Botox in delaying the ageing process in my opinion. Did you go to San Antonio WholeFoods?

I actually did. I went to Trader Joes for some Cookie Butter (to die for) and to WholeFoods for lunch. Have a great weekend.
