Friday JohnKu and TGIF

margarita pitcher

Friday is here. Okay everyone. Today’s margarita special is made with freshly squeezed key lime juice, Tapatio Tequila Blanco, Cointreau, and agave nectar. It is shaken and served over chipped ice. You can elect to have it blended till frozen and also salt or no salt on the glass. With the margarita I am offering a selection of salsa including green chilies, peach and spicy tomatillo.  So step up and place your order. It is Friday after all. Oh yes, today’s JohnKu (a term coined by Words4jp)  is titled Rest and I hope you like it.

When the last day comes,

Will there be anyone who says?

I wish to work more.

One of these days I’ll have a margarita. I always end up being the one to drive. 😦 I hear that ‘I wish to work more on my deathbed’ thing a lot. Ever wonder if such a ‘statement’ would exist if people able to spend their lives doing the job they dreamed of or at least loved? I don’t think anyone would say to work more, but people might have fewer regrets.

I think you are right. The key is being able to realise that when the dream job is achieved it is just that. Too often people dream of something and then when they get it they want something more. (Maslow’s hierarchy of needs).

Very true. Like there’s always something to reach for. In some ways that’s good, but it can turn dark pretty easily.

Love your recipe for margaritas! And what a true johnku: I think on my last day I’ll be wishing I could hug my husband some more or gaze up at a starry night sky with him one last time. The closest I could get to wishing to work more is if the work was writing and, still, my husband would have to be in close proximity. Always, always, always, he has to be there.

I said to my wife, “yours is the last face I want to see on this Earth.” That covered it for me.

I’ll take one, and some chips and salsa…I’ll try all three. And that view from your balcony would be a nice place to hang out. Me and the owl would keep the doves away.On the way to the hospital for the very last time, my 91 yo grandmother was spouting off a list of things she had to do yet. A farmers work is never done.

Watering the plants, feeding the animals, tending the garden…it was really hard for her to give up. Pneumonia got her in the end. She was a lover of life, not at all afraid of hard work and taught me so very much.

I hope to only wish that when I find a job that I can love doing forever. Haven’t found it yet! 😉 Have a good weekend John. I’ll take one of those margarita’s before I hit the road (walking of course!).

The Margaritas look delicious John. I only ever came across one person who
wanted to keep working when the week had ended.

Of course, the end I mention here is the final end.
