Last week I promised to publish a photo of the beach that would be in complete contrast to this one.
I had hoped the photo would show you how much agony spring break brings to the quiet and staid residents of a vacation destination location. I imagined all the sympathy comments and the “poor John” kind of support I would be receiving. Well, it seems the weather had some other plans. For the two weeks (so Far) of Spring Break 2015 it has been cold, windy, rainy and downright lousy. The gigantic population never showed up. So instead of a jam-packed beach fill with drunken youngsters we have this.
The Chamber of Commerce is apoplectic, but we all have had the best spring break ever. Yes, that is fog in the picture Heh, heh, heh.

Guessing the businesses and local government are mourning the loss of money. Reminds me of the town around my college. The students brought in a lot of money with various levels of alcohol-based trouble. Between semesters, the town was quiet and some businesses complained about it being slow. For your sake, I hope it remains a low key Spring Break.

Had a ruckus last night. Broken bottles, fights, cops and maybe fifty unhappy, wet (and drunk) kids. Could be the last big bang sine more rain is on the way.

Hope the rain doesn’t make people even more irritable. We’re looking at snow here tomorrow.

Yup. On a day where the kid is home from school too. Not like we’d want to go outside or drive anywhere. Damn weather.

Like an old man once said to me, “better than no weather.”

I’m wicked enough that I would wish for lousy weather during spring break if I lived where you do (or probably any other coastal town that student flock to) 😉
Good news: we have temps in the 80s now! Bad news: it’s snowing pollen 😦

I remember the Florida pollen. Used to kick my allergies into high gear when I visited

I’m looking forward to someday putting the Florida pollen way behind me 😉

Do you go down to the beach when it’s sunny and yell, “Get off my lawn!?” Ha! I really wanted to say that to someone while I used a cane. 🙂
We have a home in Breck and it’s spring break for the next two weeks. The restaurants will be packed along with the ski area, but our state depends on tourism, so it doesn’t bother me.

Our town made the decision to court the spring breakers after South Padre stopped being the destination of choice. Been a mess ever since.

Glad you are able to enjoy the breakless Spring, John. Now it’s up to you to keep the local economy alive with extra alcohol purchases!

A beautiful photo of your beach, John. It has been a quiet spring break here, as well. Warming up soon!

We just had bike week and motorcycles were everywhere. I’m not complaining though, they were well behaved. I friend of ours was killed on a bicycle a few days ago. So sad. It’s the car/truck motorists here that scare the hell out of me.

It is sad. As a bike rider I have a few close calls.

Bwahahaha! 😈 That’ll show those spring-breakers. Maybe you can make a deal with the weatherman for the same thing next year. 😀
