Sunday – Fifty-Two Views of the Gulf

2015-08-29 08.22.03

Today’s photo shows a continued lack of a lot of visitors on the beach. You can tell the wind has been calm since there are a lot of footprints leading to and from the walkover. There is one lone camper on the left, and they look like they will not be staying too long. The temp this morning was a cool 78 degrees and since the humidity is in the 60’s it seems much cooler. The water is still at 89 degrees, so it feels like a bath when you go in.

Last week’s photo.

You can see the effects of high winds on the sand and the lack of footprints.

Funny how some areas call 78 degrees cool while others consider that really warm. Reminds me of native Floridians bundling up in 60 degree weather.

Can you see your breath in that weather?

Only if you still have ice cubes or a frozen margarita in your mouth.

It looks like the camper is heading toward center stage (beach). Will there be a crowd for Labor Day?

Oh yes. We expect quite a number. We are going to Austin and leave the house to the kids.

The sea really is warm John. That near empty beach looks very inviting. It’s grey and fairly miserable here in London.

I remember London in the fall. Still loved it though.

    I wouldn’t mind your 78-degrees. We’re nearing the 100s here!

John, I so look forward to your beach views on Sunday! This one certainly doesn’t disappoint, either. Temps in the high seventies doesn’t sound so awful, but I imagine you took this in the “cool” part of the day — before it jumped to 100, right?!!

Well here it only gets into the high 80’s. It is 100 inland.

Yes, it is. The lack of humidity is a gift as well.
