It is Friday again and I have to say I’m glad it is here. This week was a buster. I finally got the book ready for paperback publishing. This next week I hope to get the e-version ready. On top of that I need to line up some guest posts and will be sending out requests. The regulars know I sent out a call for volunteers yesterday for a blog tour to support what looks like a November 2 launch for His Revenge. Keeping fingers crossed everything works. There are so many things that need doing. I guess anything worth doing requires a lot of effort. Today’s JohnKu talks to this point.
Effort by John W. Howell © 2015
Some work takes effort,
Other works appear easy. . .
Reward in effort.

It feels like the more effort we put in, the sweeter the reward. Happy Weekend, John!

You as well Marie.

Funny cartoon. I agree. It’s less work to work hard than to just kinda doodle and not get enough done. But of course, as a writer, I never feel like I get enough done! Good luck with your publishing, I KNOW how much work that is!

I know you do. Thanks.

I’ll think. Everyone else is going to post an announcement but the Punchy Lands is not that kind of place. I know. I’ll write a little story and you can run it if you like it. How’s that sound.

That sounds just fine! Also, I have done interviews and whatnot in the past, if you’re interested in that, as well.

OOOOOOH. an interview by the famous Professor. Quite fun. Let’s do that.

Nice John. The graphic is so often the case.

Yes it is. I used to love working in teams when everyone got rewarded for the work of a few.

Do you remember the six phases of a project?
Enthusiasm
Disillusionment
Panic
Search for the guilty
Punishment of the innocent, and
Praise and glory for the uninvolved.

LOL. I used to have a poster behind my door (seldom closed) with these along with one that said “How would you like a big cup of shut the f**k up?”

Would love to help however I can, John. I, too, am glad this week is nearly over!

Just send me your e-mail and I can send you a fool proof post that just requires a copy and paste. (maybe three minutes hard labor ;-))

Well done, John. But I think I know a lot of people who match the cartoon! 😀
Congrats on reaching this milestone with your next book! It’s exciting.
Yes, TIGF! It’s my every other Friday off, but believe me the day was hard earned…
Good news is that though we’ll be inundated with rain and wind, the hurricane isn’t expected to wreak as much havoc inland DC as previously thought. I do like having my electricity and running water… Hugs!

I’m so glad. Been a little worried. Last night the weatherman said the Hurricane was going to head out to sea and only rain for the East.

I’m happily on high ground. Some nearby areas get flooded at the drop of a hat — or shower. Lots of rain though. Possibly enough to weaken roots of trees, that in turn fall on power lines. That happens a lot with storms here. But hurricane-wise we’ll be okay. Hugs!

I look forward to hearing more about His Revenge. It never ceases to amaze me how much work is required to do virtually anything. Not long to go until launch day now John. Have a good weekend.

You said it John, “anything worth doing requires a lot of effort.” You’re an old pro at this stuff, but I’m sure some things never get easier. I guess the “pro” part just means you know what to expect and can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Here’s to a great weekend for you! *clink of margarita glasses*

Thanks Phillip. When you are on your belly crawling toward the light at the end of the tunnel only to discover it’s a train is the kind of stuff that causes me to wonder sometimes. (You have been there )

Haha. Sometimes that happens, yup. At least those trains usually aren’t lethal.
