This week was quite unusual. On Sunday night and half of Monday, we had monsoon rains. Our total accumulation for the twelve-hour period was over five inches. The quantity of rain caused a lot of flooding in Corpus Christi. We were lucky when the ponds overflowed their banks, only about six inches of water rose into the street. None in the house. Of course, the repair that I had done for a leak in the garage will need to be redone. Still leaks. The contractor was very responsive and will redo the repair next week. Beyond that, the week was pretty standard. The pace was fast and the time went like the wind.

Having said that, I’ve just booked us on a holiday to Kerala, S India in October – after the worst of the monsoons, but not completely clear of them!

That’s a whole lot of rain, John. Glad to hear there was no significant damage.
It’s been raining more than not here for 3 weeks. Glimpses of the sun are rare. But it’s been keeping the temperature down, and that’s great.
It’s my Friday to work, but TGIF just the same! Mega hugs.

Aw. Sorry about the work, but at least there is Saturday just around the corner. I remember the heat in Washington. One July day I walked out of one loafer. It was stuck in the street on the soft asphalt. Had to laugh out loud. Hugs 🙂

That’s one way to start the week. I vaguely remember those types of rains in Florida. Pretty to watch from inside, but a nightmare to be out in. Glad to hear you avoided flooding.

For goodness sake send some of that rain our way. The monsoon is supposed to reach Pune, India, between June 10th and 12th. It better because we’re told in the newspaper that only two months water supply remains in the reservoirs. The heat here is in the 100’s F. In Delhi, up north, last week it went to 111 degrees F. Here it was a couple degrees cooler. The air feels like you could wring water from it. Good piece, John. 🙂 — Suzanne

Good to hear the rain didn’t do much damage, other than the callback to the contractor. We have had the strangest spring here in Ontario. Mother Nature had had a difficult time deciding what season it is! It appears she is gifting us a stellar weekend! Warmer temperatures & lots of sunshine which means bike rides, gardening & wine on the patio!😄

We, too, have had LOTS of rain (and our forecasters are “blaming” it on Texas!). Funny how we’ve come so far in many things, yet we still can’t redistribute water where it’s needed. Here’s hoping for a sunny weekend to dry out, John!

We got about nine inches in our neighborhood but no flooding as we are a block from the bluff. My rain barrels and buckets are full but I am ready to dry out. The sun looks good today. I am glad you came through safely, TGIF to you! Cheers!
