Wednesday Story Day – AKA Hump Day

College meme

Wednesday Story Day again and last week we left Ben and Mrs. Wolfe in a menáge à duex. Ben had some of Trudy’s concoction which turned him into the nerd version of the Incredible Hulk. We should go back and see if Ben has totally throttled Mrs. Worthe.
“Y-you need to let go of me.”
“And why should I? I like the fact that there is fear in your eyes. I like to feel your neck veins pulse as your heart tries to get enough blood to where it will do the most good. In short Mrs. Worthe, I think I’m going to enjoy watching you take your last breath.”
“Let her go, Ben.”
“Huh. Who’s there.”
“Let her go Ben and look at me.”
“Okay. She’s free.”
“Now look at me.”
“F-Father L-Lightfoot. W-what are you doing here?”
“I came to check on you Ben and come to find you choking poor Mrs. Worth here.”
“T-thank you Father. I thought he was going to kill me.”
“Now, now. I’m sure Ben was just trying to scare you. Isn’t that right? Ben.”
Y-yes Father. I was just trying to scare her.”
“Okay then. You two shake hands and tell each other you forgive them.”
“Not sure I can do that, father. He’s dangerous.”
“Yeah, me neither, Father. She tried to kill me with cocaine.”
“Kill you with cocaine? How?”
“She put it in my soup, and I’m allergic. Makes me want to kill.”
“And how did I know the little twerp had an allergy. I was just trying to give him something to relax him. He’s wound up tighter than a fishing reel.”
“Okay, you two. Honest mistakes. Come on. Shake.”
Um, I’m sorry Mrs. worth.”
“That’s fine Ben. I’m sorry you were allergic. I didn’t know.”
“Now a hug.”
“Too far Father. I’m out of here.”
So Ben. We have a lot to talk about.”

  1. Okay, okay. Whose side is Fr Lightfoot on? What is his agenda? Is Mrs Worthe a stooge for the Feds? More confused every week…

    1. I know. I just hate myself when I do that to readers. 😀 Moooohahahah

  2. I’m laughing at how Lightfoot just shrugs off the cocaine thing. Especially since I don’t think it’s a relaxer, but the opposite.

    1. Yeah, I think Mrs. Worthe was trying to overdose the lad.

  3. Now I’m beginning to wonder about the good Father also. I’m glad to see Ben’s leaving ASAP before some other kind of food is forced on him. Good episode, John. 🙂 — Suzanne

    1. Thanks Suzanne.

  4. Aw, I was hoping… No, I didn’t want to see Ben get sent to prison for murder. On the other hand, this episode ended in a bit of a lull. I’ve learned that that’s never a good thing with you, John.

    1. Ha ha ha. Thanks, Dan. 😀

  5. Hum…allergic to the soup or cocaine…

    1. Now there’s a twist. May have a chicken allergy.

  6. She’ll be back for revenge.

    1. I think she went to get a knife.

      1. Or a flamethrower.

      2. Ha ha ha. Or a flaming sword.

  7. Ben’s not a killer. A detonation advocate, maybe. That’s where all this started, wasn’t it? With plans to blow something up? So it’s Father L. to the rescue. Forcing them to shake hands and hug sounds very parental, the sudden!

    1. Yes. Father Lightfoot definitely has something afoot.

  8. Hug it out, I’m sure that will work.

    1. I’m sure it will.

  9. That Father is odd. Whose team is he on? This doesn’t sound good. I bet he isn’t even a real priest. Ha ha. So many twists and turns. Fun-fan-tas-tic reading, John. 😀 😀 😀

    1. Thanks, Tess. 🙂 (You made my night)

  10. Hmmm…. so the FBI/Priest shows up just in time to “save the day” or maybe to further complicate things. I wondered when Lightfoot would be back. Now I’ve got “Sundown” in my head. But that’s a good thing. Looking forward to next week. Thanks for the story, John. Mega hugs.

    1. Thank you for the nice words. I was wondering when Lightfoot was coming back as well. 😀

  11. And the plot thickens!! You’ve got me guessing, John!

    1. I’m so glad. Thanks, Jan 🙂

  12. Curiouser and curiouser…
