I asked Keith to explain what is going on here. These are his words. “Using this photo (below) as inspiration, write a short story, flash fiction, scene, poem; anything, really; and either put it (or a link to it) in a comment or email it to me at keithkreates@channing.fr before 6pm next Sunday (if you aren’t sure what the time is where I live, this link will tell you). If you post it on your own blog or site, a link to this page would be appreciated, but please do also mention it in a comment here – pingbacks don’t often work.
Go on. You know you want to. Let your creativity and imagination soar. I shall display the entries, with links to your own blog or web site, next Monday.”

“Hey, honey.”
“What dear?”
“You know that young woman who was a singer and died?”
“What are you talking about?”
“We read that article in People magazine. You know that teenage girl who was in the car wreck.”
“Oh. That girl who was just starting her career. The one with the number one song?”
“That’s the one.”
“What about her?”
“Did she have a sister?”
“What do you care?”
“Just answer. Did she?”
“No, she was all alone. Remember she was an orphan.”
“That’s what I thought. What was she wearing when she was in the accident?”
“You are starting to concern me. The article said she had just left the stage.”
“I know that. Do you remember what she was wearing?”
“The article said she was in pink and blue.”
“Braided hair right?”
“W-well yes. In the PR photo, she had braided hair.”
“Come look.”
“Okay. What am I looking at?”
“You don’t see her?”
“I see a lot of hers. Which one?”
“By the palm tree. Blue shirt, pink pants braided hair.”
“I see people in the grass. No girl.”
“You’re kidding. She’s right there.”
“Darling?”
“Yes dear.”
“How many margaritas’ have you had?”
“Too many I guess.”
“Yes, love. One too many. Let’s go sit down.”

Ah! I love it when ghosts appear selectively. 🙂 Great one, John.

Margaritas are magical. You can see spirits. This actually reminds me of an episode of show where the characters fight monsters. One ended up being a spirit that you can only see and fight when you’re drunk. Think it was called a Shojo.

Sounds like a good show. I can imagine preparing for battle. 😀

It was fun. Though, it meant their coordination was really off.

LOL… That’s actually a very believable dialogue, John. Even if the Missus had seen the ghost, she (or anybody else) would have to say she didn’t. 😀
I had to look 5 times before I could see her head… so I was thinking along the lines of a Dullahan. 😉 Have a terrific Tuesday. Hugs.

And there’s me thinking it was a guy in that photo. I’ve probably had one too many margaritas as well. 🍹

Could be a guy I suppose. Let me give you and opinion after 5 o’clock.

This one didn’t come easy, I’ll bet! At first, I thought the ghostly image was a guy hiking his pink pants up. And then there are all those fuzzy spots on the hillside and what looks like a movie screen. Gee, I’m impressed you came up with a coherent story at all!!

Ha ha ha. Thanks, Debbie. Not sure about the coherent but thanks.

That’s some ghost entered in the photo. Like where you took the story, John. Margaritas, indeed. 😀

Huh, maybe that’s why they call hard alcohol spirits.

Margaritas have been known to produce ghost sightings. Been there myself. 🙂

Maybe “Dear” should have another margarita so she can see what Darling is seeing. 🙂
