“Hey, you guys. Come to see this.”
“What are we looking at, Little Stuff?”
“That Red, White, and Blue thing.”
“That’s our flag. Humans call it the Star Spangled Banner.”
“Can I hold it? Or better yet, get my mouth on it?”
“No Twiggy. This flag represents the land of the free. It is not for teething.”
“I do love how it smells though. So much like freedom.”
“I have one that is my size, Lucy. I know all about freedom cause I was born in freedom.”
“I know Little Stuff. Your mom was rescued from a breeder and here you are.”
You guys want to take the flag.”
“No little stuff. This is your first Fourth of July so you keep it.”
“Good idea Bailey. In fact, you ought to run with your flag, Twiggy.”
“Okay, here I go.”
“Run, Twiggy, run.”
“You go, girl. Celebrate your freedom.”

A post 4th Delight! ♥

What a symbol to see Twiggy run with the flag – a puppy running free in her new home! I am glad you had a safe 4th. Cheers!

As I think you know I’m from the U.K. When visiting Boston Ma. a while back I was impressed to see just how many patriotic flags were seen. My friend and I enjoyed the best concert we had ever experienced and there was not one but two flags either side of the stage.
Your girls are delightful John!

Thank you, Joy. I know it is sometimes a little surprising for non-Americans to see flags and other symbols of our country to the degree Americans go to celebrate the birth of our nation. Currently the averge citizen has great concerns about our leadership and so we take some small comfort in that flag and hope it will long wave. Glad you enjoyed the Boston concert. Thanks for your observations.

I understand the concern about your leadership. We are in the same situation. The anxiety over Brexit is of consternation to all Brits.
