Friday is here, and we can look forward to a super weekend.
I want to let you all know that I will be taking a sabbatical from my blog, twitter, and Facebook beginning Tuesday, August 14th. My last post will be on Monday.
My leave is due to a needed knee replacement procedure on Monday, August 13th. I’ll be hospitalized for at least two days. I’m not sure how long my absence will be but want you to know, so you won’t wonder where I went. I don’t think I’ll be stopping by to leave comments on your posts until I’m sure my brain is clear. There is nothing worse than having to apologize for an incoherent response with the phrase, “That was the oxycodone talking.”
I hope my absence won’t be too long but in situations like this one never knows.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
Today’s JohnKu talks about absence. Have a great weekend.
Absence by John W. Howell © 2018
We appreciate,
Those we are used to seeing . . .
And miss when absent.
I hope the operation and recovery go well.
Are we supposed to apologise for incoherent responses? Oh, dear – do you think I should go back over
some ofmine?LikeLiked by 2 people
Ha ha ha. Thanks, Keith.

John,
I am sending good wishes and vibes a few days ahead of time. I will miss the heck out of you, but take the time you need. And be careful with the Oxy, that stuff is sweet talking goodness.
Peace, love and best wishes

Good luck with the operation and hope you have a quick recovery. I’ll keep a margarita ready for your return.🍹(They don’t have a margarita emoji. 😭)

Thank you, Charles. I can’t imagine not having a Margarita emoji but the one you sent was delicious.

Take good care of yourself, John. I’m pretty sure the hospital angels are in for a surprise, one we readers selfishly look forward to every day. Prayers are forthcoming, my friend. ♥

We wish you well, John, and we’ll keep a good though until you return. I’m already looking forward to the 10-things that rise from this.
I hope the operation goes smooth as ice and that the recovery is short and easy.

With bated breath we’ll wait,
the time apart we’ll hate,
but soon there’ll be a date,
for improvement in your gait.
Be well. see you soon!

If you’re going to keep up with that four-footed crew, and a knee’s gone wonky, replacing it is a very good thing. Best wishes for pretty nurses and a quick recovery!

Thanks for letting us know, John — yes, we’d have worried. All the best for a successful procedure and an uneventful recuperation. Tell the girls everything’s okay and you’ll be dancing again before you know it! In the meantime, I’ll say some prayers.

You’ll get through it fine, good John! My right hip was replaced several years ago & I was home in four days, wallking – not so tall, however! Will be praying for you! ♥♥♥

Hi John! The picture of your dog and the caption is really sweet. Your pets will miss you most of all. I’ll say a prayer for your successful surgery and your recovery. I guess Super Authors of thrillers are human, too.

Good luck with it, John. I’m sure you’ll be better off in the long run. Oxycodone has its place, but it is not conducive to writing comments on blogs.

All the best, John. Don’t worry about us. Blog posts have the lifespan of a gnat, and we’ll always write more. Take care of yourself first. Now where’d Charles get to with that pitcher?

Oh, John, you will be sorely missed. I do hope the surgery and healing process goes well. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. I have to admit I am going to have withdrawals from your posts. They almost always are a guaranteed chuckle and those fur babies are the best. Take good care and we’ll see you when you return. If you need anything, do NOT hesitate to call on me.

Thanks for letting us know, John, so we would not have to wonder what happened to you! May your surgery and recovery go well. I don’t blame you for not wanting to post while your are in post-op mode. I can see some “Ten Things” post coming from your experiences. If you have yours done at Spohn, maybe you will get a room with a view of the bay. Good luck!

Thank you, Jo. I will be going to San Antonio. So unfortunately I won’t see the bay.

I join all the others in wishing you well: that your surgery is a walk in the park routine, nothing to worry about, that your recovery is the right amount of buzzed and a waltz ’round the room and that your return to reality is a hop, step and a jump away!
We’ll be here when you are ready to return, have no fear.

Good luck with the op. John. Remember you must exercise as much as possible and the earlier the better. Hubby, having just experienced the op.found a skate board useful. Sit on a chair and let you affected knee go back and forth.
