“Yes, Twiggy. It is Friday. All day.”
Friday again. I hope you are looking forward to a nice weekend. We are certainly glad the tourist season is behind us. It is so quiet one can now enjoy the sound of the surf and gulls without it being mixed with the sounds of boom boxes and the barley pop-fueled loud laughter of half-naked sun worshippers. There is another sensation that hit me today. There is no smoke smell wafting up from too many bonfires and napalm charged charcoal burners. I can actually breathe in deeply and not rush for the rescue inhaler. All in all the best nine months coming up.
Today’s JohnKu talks about sharing which is certainly something we townies need to do with visitors during the summer months. Have a good weekend.

Haha, John, spoken like a true older person. When you were young you would have just joined in.

You have me dead to rights. I did join in. But now I WANT MY BEACH BACK. 😀

I understand that. Even when I was young I went to the farthest end of the beach, so I could connect with the ocean. Happy weekend John

The image of Twiggy’s stare-down will stay with me. Hope recovery is continuing on a positive track, and I like the JohnKu! Enjoy the off-season by the beach.

Never thought about all the bonfires, but I don’t think those are common around here. Might even be illegal. Glad you can breathe freely again. How are you doing?

Doing well. Each day brings a new strength. Walking well without a cane. The PT is really helping.

She’s waited for this moment…playtime with pops. Enjoy the wonder of her puppy love, free of hospital gowns and tourists. 🙂

Now, if only some of our summer visitors could learn the lesson of your haiku. Maybe if we gave them that Twiggy look it would help — who could keep from paying attention when confronted by that?

I’m guilty of being one of those people who flock to shore and beach points to sun worship. But if I lived there I would prefer to have months when the streets and beaches aren’t jammed with people.
I live in a tourist town on a smaller level and now with the main months of summer past and the tourists gone, I can actually frequent my favorite restaurants again 🙂
Happy Friyay, John! 🙂

We like being able to go out to dinner as well, Mae. So hard when a town of 3000 swells to twenty on any summer day.

Frankly, getting your beach back at this time of the year sounds just about perfect.
As was your ending Haiku.
Twiggy looks like she’s expecting something or rather giving you the look because she didn’t get that something!
Have a fabulous week-end!

Thanks for my Twiggy fix, John. The poem is lovely and you are a generous soul. Sharing is lovely, but so is respect. It seems like so many folks are either all or nothing with both.
Happy weekend Hugs.
