Thursday – A Little Personnel – Rainy Morning

Lucy, Bailey, Twiggy

“Hey, Twiggy I got your donut and rope thingy out. You want to play?”

“I was hoping we could go outside and ruckus.”

“It is cold and rainy out there.”

“Yeah, I see it out the window. It looks like it might last all day.”

“That’s why I wondered if you wanted to play inside.”

“I suppose if it is the only way to have fun. I don’t like the rain.”

“Hey, Dad. Any suggestions?”

“Sure go get Bailey and have a game of keep away.”

“Leave me out of this Pops. Those two play too rough.”

“Bailey you are such a spoiled sport.”

“Who says so?”

“I do. You never want to play with us.”

“Boss give Bailey a direct order to play with us.”

“Aw, Lucy. You know I can’t do that. Bailey is her own person.”

“Come on Bailey. Play with us.”

“Psst. Lucy. It’s raining, right? It’s cold, right? Hop up here and get warm.”

“I guess if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.”

“That’s the spirit. Come on up.”

“Hey, Dad look at these two. A couple of couch potatoes.”

Yeah, I see that, Twiggy. Well, at least they are comfortable.”

Lucy, Bailey, Twiggy

“What’s that noise?”

“Might be thunder.”

“You two have a great idea after all.”

“Always works Twigster. Always works.”

“Hey, Dad. Can we get room service up here?”

“When pigs fly, Twiggy. When pigs fly.””

I loved this, John! I was waiting for a shot taken by the producer with you joining the kids. 🙂 Twiggy looks like she’s laughing in that one photo! Thanks for the smiles.

Thank you, Jill. I’m ususally not in “photo” condition so I try to stay behind the camera.

So sweet. 🙂 The pups know how to handle a rainy day, just take it easy. Hope there’s sunshine today, so they can go out and play. Thank you for this morning delight, John.

Oh no, bummer. Maybe some new toys for the pups? 🙂

I don’t know, John. A coffee table with a couple of dog bowls might work. Those guys are pretty cute. I think they have things figured out.

I have to ask. What is considered cold? It’s 35°f here at the moment.

It is about 58 right now and I’m outside with a potty run for the dogs and I’m freezing. So to me 58 is cold. I know, I know sounds crazy.

I’m going out soon to start work on the garage. We will have sunny skies and a high of 48 (and wind). I know you know what that feels like, given the places you’ve lived. Enjoy your slice of paradise – I hope it “warms” up for you.

I love that Lucy tried to squeeze in on the wrong side of Bailey. My dogs do that all the time, but they’re usually fighting for space by me. In fact, the bigger of the two (they’re both pretty big) just jumped up and wedged himself between me and his brother. I’m now leaning sideways to finish typing this.

These pictures and the “conversation” totally put a huge smile on my face this morning. Thanks.

Hope you’re weathering the rain okay.

Thank you, Staci. Your story reminds me that these guys (dogs) are pretty much the same. They unify us in their quirks. We are expecting two inches of rain over the next two days.

Dogs (all pets, really, I’d guess) are the great equalizer.

Hoping you weather the storms safely.

Something about that third picture really had me chuckling. I think it’s how Twiggy is looking at Lucy with such a serious expression.

How easy is it to keep the dogs entertained when it’s raining?

They go into “overcast” nap mode. So it is not hard.

This post is the kind of thing I like starting my day with. All your pups are so cute and entertaining. I love Twiggy’s ears. I’ll have to try the “when pigs fly” line on my cats. I suspect Maxine and Wendy will just give me eye-rolls while Junior will ask what’s a pig?

As entertaining as your photos of this crew are, I can only imagine what it’s like to live with them. People without pets don’t understand how much better than television they can be!

This Texas weather right now is hard on a pup. 🙂 My daughter just got a new BorderDoodle pup and she refuses to go potty in the rain. Needless to say it’s created quite a few cleanups. 🙂 Love the photos of these three. They are such stars!

    John,

Lucy . . those faces she makes are priceless! The Twigster has a great mentor because she put on some faces herself- There was “Rainy Day Nap” face and “Tell me there’s a bowling alley next door” face . .

Hope the three musketeers have a great inside day!

This I love, John — “Bailey is her own person.” Indeed, we do see our pets as “people.” And what could be more entertaining on a cool, rainy day than a trio of ladies trying to decide how best to spend their day?!
