Today is a sampling of some things. I started with the idea of face boards and then got a little distracted with other things along the way. I hope you enjoy today’s tour.

Love the signs of your neighborhood. It kind of reminds me of the imagination of the fishing island I was born on and their mailboxes!

Potpourri is the perfect word for this stroll around town. Seems many enjoy the face cut-out boards. Could a future post be of the belt sander races?

I’ve never seen so many face boards in one place, but my favorites have to be the painted waterline and Gaff’s truck. The dolphin and chambered nautilus remind me of the parking lots of various marinas here after Ike — except in that case, it was sailboats that were scattered around. Well, and there was the Mercedes that ended up in the pool at Portofino marina, and the French provincial love seat that got pulled out of a slip, and…and…

I am one of those people who likes to take pictures when I come across faceboards:) What a great collection of them. That poor dolphin still on the ground though, but I love the legend of the sand dollar. Thanks for the fun tour.

Great photos, John! I love all the boards, but the little lending library and blessing box take the prize! I have a friend who manages a bar there in Port A, a place called Coconuts. If you ever stop in for a drink, tell Mark Alan Atwood you are a friend of mine. 🙂

I love the idea of a blessings box, John. That and the little free library are pretty cool. I can’t believe you don’t have a tricked-out belt sander ready for the race. Maybe next year, you can pose behind each of these 🙂

I think this takes the prize for the most face boards I’ve ever seen in one outing!! Nice collection, John. I, too, like the lending library (we have a couple of those) and the blessings box (we don’t have any of those, though there are all sorts of outlets designed to help the needy!)

What a lovely colourful saunter. I too love the idea of the blessing box. We have boxes in shops to donate for the local food banks, but I like the idea of the blessing box, no official hoops to go through. I have no idea what a belt sander race is, but I see I can look that one up.
