Thursday – A Little Personal – Rain and Cold

Twiggy and Lucy

“Hey, dad. Check out Lucy on the couch.”

“She looks happy.”

“Did I hear my name?”

“That’s okay, Lucy. Dad and I were commenting on how happy you looked.

“Why do I think there is some kind of catch?”

“How about we play with some toys?”

“Hey, Dad. Can you toss the pink cow?”

“Maybe Lucy wants to play.”

“How about it, Lucy. Want to play?”

“I think that would be nice after our walk.”

“Dad. You aren’t going to make us go out in that cold and rain are you?”

“You know if you don’t go out you are like a whirling dervish for the rest of the day. Besides the sun is coming out later when you get back from the beach.”

“Oh man, Lucy. I’m sorry I gave Mom such a hard time about the sweater. Now I’m freezing.”

“Yeah and because of you, mine’s still back at the house. Let’s get this over.”

“That walk was miserable, Lucy.”

“I know next time just stand still and let mom put on the sweater.”

“Wait! What is that bright orb in the sky?”

“Remember Dad said there would be sun after the walk. This must be it.”

Lucy and Twiggy

“What do you think Little one? Maybe stay all afternoon?”

“I think I could do that, Lucy. This is the best.”

Always err on the side of sweaters. Twiggy will learn.

My goodness, Twiggy does resemble a little potato when she sits (last photo) 😉 Hope there’s more sunny days in your near future! Have a great Thursday, John!

Love all these, but Lucy looking at the sun is adorable. And what a nice way to end a miserable afternoon—toasty warm.

It was nice. When I take the dog’s photo I have to shoot many to get one. I got Lucy with one since she was obviously fixated on something. Thanks, Staci.

We’ve had snow for three days. Just a fine constant trickle, so nothing deep.

Twiggy certainly gives new meaning to the phrase “baked potato.” A little baking’s good after the damp cold that’s been hovering around the coast. Both clearly are enjoying their little fenced-in “oven.”

The sun brings out the best in all of us! The way it has been coming and going it is easy to miss it. The girls seem happier in the sun too.

You can’t go wrong with lounging in the sun – especially with all the rainy weather. That’s all we’re getting through the weekend.

One of my favorite days of the week. I agree with Lucy. Little One should have stood still and let Mom put on her sweater. 🙂

I love these girls. I’m trying to imagine putting a sweater on Twiggy. I cleared the ice and snow, the sun is out here and we might end up with a good Thursday.

They’re just like children when it comes to dressing for the weather. Mine refuses booties, though he’s acclimating to the raingear. Nothing like “eau de wet dog” scent, huh?! Send us some of that sunshine, won’t you??
