Thursday – A Little Personal – Lucy and Twiggy In the Yard

Twiggy and Lucy

“Here is how we keep watch, Little Potato.”

“I have my Bulldog stance perfected.”

“Yeah, you look great.”

“Thanks but I can’t hold it forever.”

“Well, nothing wrong with taking a rest.”

“But I’m not as fierce.”

“Hold on. I think I see something. Be right back.”

“Let me know if it is something dangerous.”

“Naw. It was nothing but a guy with a leaf blower.”

“He wouldn’t have heard me bark anyway. Glad I didn’t waste it.”

“I think we ought to take a break now. We’ve been on duty at least an hour.”

“Yeah, a quick rest is all I need.”

“Don’t be eating any of that mulch now.”

“That was the old me. I don’t do that anymore.”

Twiggy and Lucy

“What are you doing?”

“Combo back scratch and sunbath.”

“Looks fun. How do you do it?”

“Flop on your back, stick your tongue out and kick up your feet.”

“Yeah, you lost me at flop on your back. I can’t do that.”

“I’ll bet you can.”

“Nope legs too short.

“How about I knock you over?”

Twiggy and Lucy

“See this is as close as I get.”

“Poor puppy.”

So cute. Good to see there is no more mulch eating going on. They look right at home.

Adorable. So, Twiggy can’t actually roll onto her back?

I have never seen her do it. We can pick her up and turn her on her back but she doesn’t do it on her own.

Got it. Maybe she simply doesn’t like it? Not really experienced with dogs.

A low center of gravity is great for some things, but the combo move? Not so much . . .

Twiggy has the bulldog pose down cold. The roll and scratch takes years of practice to prefect….unless one finds essence of dead skunk by the side of the road – then it is like, Snap!!

So Twiggy still likes to lie in the mulch. Too cute. At least she stopped eating it.

I love Lucy’s combo. Too bad Twiggy can’t/won’t join in. Seems like a great way to relieve the tension caused by the mean ol’ leaf blower.

That bulldog stance is perfect. Twiggy looks just as good as any of those show dogs on television. She might not be quite ready for prime time, but I’ll bet she’s getting close. Of course, with Lucy to critique her work, she ought to progress quickly.
