We are glad you can join us today. We are going to return to the Hurst Creek/Hamilton Greenbelt again. We are walking to the Sailmaster Waterfall which I have never seen. Have water? Okay let’s go
Here is the entrance.
The wildflowers in June along the way are spectacular.
This a restful little waterfall where I could imagine taking a break and enjoying the sound of the babble of the creek as it cascades over the rocks.
There’s a signpost up ahead. Welcome to the Sailmaster Waterfall zone.
Hurst Creek runs slowly to meet a spillway. These waterlilies had tons of closed yellow blossems waiting for the sun.
You can see the spillway at the right in the background. The waterlilies were to the right of the spillway.
One section of the falls
The same section from a tree framed viewpoint
The Producer took this shot of the falls from a lower viewpoint.
The same viewpoint only closer.
On the way back, we came across a doe.
And two mallard ducks not stopping their grooming.
I hope you enjoyed the View today. Have a great week.

Lovely scenery. I love the doe.

Another incredible journey! Folks in your neighborhood will soon discover they have a writer in their midst. Someone will stumble upon your “Views of the Neighborhood” and want to meet the person/s behind the camera and the words. You and the producer contribute so much to the community, John. Beautiful! ♥

Thank you, Gwen. I think being a writer is the best way to remain anonymous. 😀

Are the falls man-made? Everything looks geometrically perfect.

If I envy anything about Austin, it’s the wonderful natural resources that are there. We flatlanders/coastal dwellers don’t get waterfalls until the freeways flood and start dumping water over the side. The parks, trails, and greenbelts in Austin are just wonderful.

I agree. The topography is amazing. There are little creeks and falls everywhere. Thanks, Linda.

That looks like a delightful little hike, John the waterfall is beautiful. I imagine the wildlife enjoys the water and the protected nature of the setting. Thanks for bringing us along.

I’m surprised more deer aren’t taking advantage of the protected space. I guess they love the excitement of living among the houses. Thanks, Dan.

The park is generic food, John. You planted gourmet items. Your yard is the Whole Foods for deer.

Beautiful, John! So your knee is doing better now? That’s great 🙂

I actually broke my kneecap (same leg as surgery) and am in an immobilizer. I can do anything since my knee can’t move. I just hop along. Thanks, Jacquie.

Ouch! Do they steel plate that, John, or leave it to mend on its own?

It gets immobalized and then heals on its own (hopefully) If not on its own then they have to go in and wire it together. (Yowzaa)

What a fabulous place to meander through. Is this walking distance from your home?
I swear, if it is, I would be there daily.
Wonderful tour. Thank you, John.

It is but in my current condition I have to take the car. (Broken kneecap)

Didn’t you get a new one? 😉
But totally understandable to drive there!

I did get a new knee and then broke the same knee cap four weeks a go. 🤓

Are you kidding me? What the hell did you do? I’da thought those things were. Bionic, as in, unbreakable!

Not really. The knee cap was my old one. I overstepped some bushes and stress fractured the cap. It was a vertical break into two pieces. Surgeon said he never saw one like that before. I told him I was glad to supply new knowledge. 😄

Great sceneries! In my countries there are a lot of waterfalls too. They’re high and the waterflows are heavy. If you’re into waterfalls, you should check my post about Segerincing Waterfall here:
There is rainbow too!
Greetings from Indonesia 🙂
