“Hey, Lucy. Get up. There’s a noise in the yard.”
“Probably that squirrel again.”
“No, I’m serious. Get up.”
“Oh, my goodness. This better be good.”
“What’s up, Ladies?”
“Twiggy thinks she hears something.”
“That’s good cause the sprinkler guys are here.”
“Hey, Boss. I’m down here and don’t see a thing.”
“Look harder. Here comes one now.”
“Look at that. He’s digging in our yard.”
“Lucy is he allowed to do that?”
“If not Little One, he sure is making a mess.”
“Yeah, look at all those flags.”
“Should we do anything, Lucy?”
“I think the boss is cool so we should be as well.”
“Okay. Let’s play with popcorn.”
“That could be fun.”
“Wait, what’s that noise?”
“Sounds like more digging. I would love to get my paws in that mud.”
“There are ditches everywhere.”
“Well I don’t know about you, but all this excitement makes a nap very necessary.”
“I think you’re right. I’ll just close my eyes for a minute.”
“You do that.”
“Mmm, Maybe more than a minute.”
“Now you are talking, Little One. By the way. Quit talking.”
Good to know Twiggy is always so vigilante.

Okay. With all those toys lying around and the steps to get up on the couch, I now know who runs the house. And it’s as it should be.

They run it for sure. I agree about should be. We pretty much live for our pets and they give back tons.

Letting people in the yard, AND letting them dig? John, I think you owe the girls an explanation – if they remember after that nap. So cute.

I know. I will make it up to them. After the workers left I let Twiggy dig a little.

I’d love to be around the first time the sprinklers accidentally come on while the girls are in the yard. I suspect they’d go from “just nosing around” to “KILL IT!” in about two seconds.

At the coast that did happen. Lucy tried to drink all the water as it came out. Twiggy just ran from sprinkler to sprinkler barking. Bailey was there and she just rolled around on her back. What a sight.

They have such a rough life, LOL. The excitement for the moment over, and they nap among their many, many toys. It warms my heart to see how pampered these two are. It’s going to be fun to see what they do when the yard is finished!

When the workers left yesterday, they tore around the yard like it was paradise. I had to laugh at the rooster tail of dirt behind them. Thanks, Mae. If you look up pampered in the dictionary their picture is there. 😁

So you’re getting your sprinkler system installed. I’m curious for a follow-up once Twiggy has been hit by the water the first time!

We had a couple of instances when we were at the coast. She just barks at the sprinkler head and gets soaked. 😁

I love these exchanges. And it’s funny because for the first time, Zeke has windows he can just stand and look out of. The other house’s windows were too high so now, every time there is an unfamiliar noise, he squeezes between couch and chair to go investigate (place is still helter-skelter here so squeezing is the only way). Thankfully, he is no barker so he just peers and then gingerly backs out 🙂
