Views of the Neighborhood – Rough Hollow Yacht Club

I wandered over to the Rough Hollow Yacht Club just to see how the other half lives. I must say the place is beautiful. Here are some photos.

Rough Hollow Yacht Club

While walking toward the view, the restaurant is on your left. Pretty nice outdoor/indoor space.

Just past the restaurant, there is this view of the yacht basin.

Another shot from “on top” of the marina. All the slips are covered.

As you look out to the yacht basin, to your right across from the restaurant is the pool and athletic club. The athletic club is behind the palms.

This is the incline track that has two cars to take you down to the docks.

Straight ahead is the yacht club office and general store.

Here is a shot looking back up the stairs to the top of the incline. I wouldn’t want to walk those.

A photo of the fish around the pilings.

A whole rack of jet skis and a view of the covered slips.

A photo of the furthermost docks.

A fueling station with a warning. Gas fumes collect below decks during the fueling process, and a spark from the ignition system could set them off. There are pumps on boats that ventilate the below-deck area. This sign is a reminder to run the pumps.

More slips.

Another view of the incline.

A list of activities available at the club. I hope you enjoyed the visit.

I say, dear John! A place for a movie! By the way, have you already seen this masterpiece of architecture: https://vivimetaliun.wordpress.com/2019/10/20/casinha-de-cachorro-sustentavel-tem-teto-verde-e-ventilador-movido-a-energia-solar/ Studio Schicketanz has invented this.

Have a nice week full of new discoveries! 🙂

Of course, dear John! Good luck with purchasing! I hope they design it yet. It would be a sensation in the Twiggy world! Besides it is so cute! I wish I lived there! 🙂

It’s a lovely place, and a beautiful setting, but if I may put my tongue just slightly in my cheek — around here, we’d call that a marina. Of course it’s the difference between a lake and the coast, and the different kind of boating that results. It would be pretty hard to get the really big girls in there for a party. Lovely photos!

Yeah, I should have called it a marina (Like all the others around here ) but if you are going to call yourself a yacht club then it has to be a basin no matter how small. 😂

I thought the same, that there isn’t the depth or breath of water needed for yachts–but lovely, nonetheless!

Thanks for the extra view of the incline, John. That would be a significant hike. This is certainly a very nice place to keep a boat. Do you have any idea how far they can travel from here? Is this on / does it tie into a large river?

I thought of you when I was going down. The Duquesne incline was brought to mind so I had to take another shot from the bottom looking up.
