Friday JohnKu – AKA – TGIF

“Look it is Friday.”
“Gee Lucy you. seem pretty excited.”
“I have to say I do like Friday.”

It is Friday again. In my mind this week went pretty fast. I really can’t explain it other than being really busy. Speaking of busy, I am over at Story Empire today talking about dialogue tags. Yeah, I know exciting stuff, eh?  There might be some food for thought is you visit.

If you saw my post yesterday you know I’m getting ready to launch Eternal Road – The final stop. I will be making one more call for volunteers as we get closer to the time. Thanks to everyone who signed up already. If you missed the post here is the cover again.

Eternal Road

E-book cover

COVID-19 continues to dominate the news. More cases here in Texas but some evidence that masks are causing infections to level off. I still wear mine. Of course, my going out time is limited.

You have to wonder when life will return to normal. There is turmoil everywhere and it seems we all are becoming more isolated due to questionable leadership, confusing information, and fractured communities. One has to wonder where to look for solid assurance that all will eventually be well. Today’s JohnKu lays out a hint as to where to look. I hope you all have a happy weekend. Stay safe.

When you need comfort,

A voice of authority . . .

Is found inside you.

Ahh…perfect Haiku. It’s easy to doubt that voice, but it is the only one that holds our possibilities and our hope. Well done. 🙂

Dear John, good luck again! You will make it! Ladies seem to be very happy in the picture. The present situation will be over in March 2021. There are two possibilities: either the world will have finally passed this quest or some certain remedy will have finally appear. Cheers! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Yep – that’s all we got – the authority is unquestionably inside ourselves. Unfortunately too many of us have other stuff get in the way to lead them astray. Meanwhile, that opening pic is a classic.

GP – It started with the PPE shortage. Instead of saying make your own mask and save the N95 masks for medical personnel we were told don’t wear a mask. Management of the pandemic has been a fluster cluck the whole time. Bad instructions from bad managers.

It was all so new to us. How many were around during 1918 pandemic. If we can’t find a cure for the common cold (which is a virus) I’m not so sure we can cure this either.
People are getting bored staying home and they’re looking for things. Washing hands, no contact – all common sense.

I’m hoping for true normalcy at some point too. With numbers dropping here in New York, a lot of people are going back to how things used to be. Saw pictures of kids at camp and there were no masks or distancing. Got a birthday party for an old friend’s daughter this weekend, but I don’t know how that will go. I think the real test will be when schools open, but that makes me feel like a canary in a coal mine. Going to be a long time before things get back to normal.

Confusing is an ideal word for this whole thing, John. Too many mixed messages, too much downright misinformation. All of that leads us to wonder what “normal” should look like going forward. Enjoy your weekend and give the girls a big hug from me!

Very smart JohnKu, my friend. When we feel the leadership is lacking (and, let’s face it, non-existent) we must use our own common sense. And I like to think the majority have some. There will always be that minority who make the most noise, however…

Yes, we each have to listen to our own voice of moral authority. It would be easier if we know when it would be over. Here we are waiting for Tropical Storm Hanna which may turn into a hurricane. Luckily we are stocked up on supplies. It will get our minds off Covid-19 and rain will be welcome. Cheers!

Well, down under in the ‘lucky’ country, we’re smack bang in the middle of ‘the second wave’ of Covid. Especially where I live, in Victoria. It’s basically all anyone talks about anymore. Pretty glum stuff, but I have managed to draw inspiration from Covid to sneak into my WIP. Is that wrong?
