Since there are no events in Lakeway, finding things to show becomes more difficult over time. Today I thought I would just tale some random photos and label the post potpourri. Seems like an easy way out. Thanks for joining me today.
A bunch of wildlife showed up on bike ride. A squirrel cut in front of me.
Same thing with a deer.

Here is more deer. The deer were all over the place this weekend.

I’ve taken these before, but they look like the heat got to them.
I have also taken this sculpture before but not with this obvious humor addition.

Thank you for the morning walk, always a delight. Years back flamingos appeared on our lawn, don’t know why. Then, soon after, they were gone. Must have flown away. 😀

I can understand this year’s heat getting to those flamingos!! But I wouldn’t take a nap on that mattress – I can only suspect the reason(s) they threw it out. 😲

I was playing golf at the PGA Sheriton in West Palm Beach and hit a ball into a trap by some water. As I was thinking the next shot an alligator came out of the water and decided I needed a lesson in wind sprints. The rest of the foresome were in hysterics. Thay also made me take a stroke since I couldn’t retreve my ball. What fun

Ha! You saved the best for last, John. The masked chess players slayed me. The statues managed to cover their noses (or where they would be), when people can’t seem to manage. Maybe the TV networks need to rerun a bunch of old westerns. They knew how to cover their noses…
Anyhow, you always make these Sunday strolls delightful. I continue to be amazed by the deer there. I think there are supposed to be some in NM, but I haven’t seen them. Maybe the chupacabras scare them off… Hugs on the wing!

We have so many deer. There is some talk in the city council of ways to thin the herds. Most residents are ready to storm the Bastille when the counci talks that way. Thanks for going along today, Teagan.

Nice ride John. I think those flamingos thought they could outfly the virus. Shoulda took their cue from chess players. As for the long legged short tailed rodents they cute right until they start devouring the garden. Garden visitors here often comment ‘Oh you must not have any deer.’ When the subject switches to deterrents my stock answer is barbecue sauce. After the strange perplexed look I explain… The first one might not get the message however when it starts to sizzle the rest of them get the message.

John, it never ceases to amaze me how many deer you have calmly roaming your neighborhood! Somebody must be feeding them, or possibly they’ve got some nice, tasty vegetation to nibble on. I do feel sorry for the poor flamingos, who obviously wilted in the heat. Enjoy your Sunday, and thanks for letting me bike with you today.

So it seems!!! Love it! The closest we see to wildlife is the occasional squirrel, in which I take much delight! I talk to them in gentle tones and they twitch their little noses at me!

One of these days, you’re going to reach peak deer, like peak oil, and the neighborhoods going to have to have a little discussion. I love the cute little Bambis as much as anyone, but the welfare of the herd… Well, I’m sure you’ve heard it all. Love the heat-flattened flamingos. They an example of the truth of the old saying: birds of a feather collapse together!
