Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy is Annoyed.

Twiggy

“Can I come up there, dad?”

“Sure, Twiggy. Is something wrong?”

“Not really wrong, per se. Just annoying.”

“Tell me about it.”

“I don’t know if there is a lot to tell. I’m just annoyed.”

“Did Lucy do something?”

“No, she is a great sister and is sound asleep on the sofa.”

“Yeah, that’s where she does her best work. So what has you annoyed?”

“You know every time I look at the fence and see that squirrel prancing across out of reach, it makes me want to scream.”

“Well, he has to live too. Funny, I’ve never heard you scream.”

“It’s just a figure of speech, Dad. Look. There he is. Just as bold as you please taking a shortcut on the top of the fence.”

“I think he likes that fence. Sure saves some foot time between trees.”

“I’m not sure you are helping. I guess I have to work through this on my own.”

“Sometimes, that is the best way to solve problems.”

“Mom. Let me in. I have something you and I need to discuss, and Dad isn’t helping.”

“So much for working it out on your own.”

    Never worked for me.

Poor Twiggy. For my two, the irritants are the little anoles that are ubiquitous in Florida. My Lab recently managed to catch and eat one. By the look on his face at the “moment of victory,” the experience was not all that he had imagined it would be….

I hope Twiggy never gets the squirrel. I would have to rush her to the ER for sure. One time the squirrel fell into the yard and the resultant rodeo had us all exhausted especially the squirrel. Thanks for your story, Lori

After having a squirrel run wild in our attic, Derek feels the same as Twiggy. Poor little thing. She looks so troubled. xo

Squirrels are serious business. Can never fully trust the little buggers.

This one has Twiggy’s number. It sits out of sight and makes that ‘chucking’ sound that drives Twiggy wild.

I hear that noise all the time thanks to our oak tree. Thought it was a bird for the longest time.

Oh, life! Older we become, more things we comprehend. Twiggy in mindful spirit is gorgeous! While Lucy is wise. Sleep is the best solution for many problems. Thank you, dear John!

Lucy is pretty much problem free. Twiggy’s only issues are squirrels and deer. Thanks you, Maria.

Interesting turn, dear John!😁👍 In fact, she has not thought yet that they might fight her back: kick or bite! She would have been surprised. I think that squirrels & deer of your area are rather smart & know how to deal with Twiggy’s kin.

You think Twiggy’s annoyed? You should have seen me last night when I discovered that Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin have been taken off tv and will only be available on Apple’s streaming service — likewise for the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and Christmas specials. As a matter of fact, I’m getting annoyed all over again, for a whole variety of reasons. Maybe I need a talk with Mom.

I love that Twiggy is off to seek her mom’s advice now. Just like a kid, not getting the answer she wanted from her dad.

I can also relate to her exasperation with the squirrel. We have two constant visitors in our backyard that currently have my cat, Raven, vexed!

Squirrels are meant to torment dogs. Dot is constantly chasing them in the park and would dearly love to climb a tree to get one. Twiggy is so cute even when she is bugged.
