We are going to go and hunt for bargains today. The bus is taking us to the Activity Center, where the Lakeway Garage sale is being held. The sale is from 8:00 to 12:00, so we will have brunch after we’ve seen the sights. Today’s brunch is being catered by Elizabeth Street Cafe. Our entertainment is Pink.

Here we are at the Lakeway Activities Center.
There are ceramics.
Records.
Aisles of stuff.
More around the corner.
Totes, boxes, and people. The bag to the right says, “Life is Better in Flipflops.”
There are some now.
Treasures.
Furniture.
Aw.
American Flyer and Kraft shortening.
Lots of traffic today.
Well, that’s about it. Have some brunch, relax, and listen to Pink.
That reminds me of a visit to a friend in Blaricum, Holland on Queen’s Day, 2004 (now King’s Day, of course). Apart from the street entertainment, almost the entire city was one big garage/car boot/jumble sale – see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koningsdag#Flea_market

Thanks for the link. That must be some celebration. My thoughts turned to Amsterdam. and wonder if the no VAT applied to the window sellers. 🙄

A fun place to visit, John. I must admit that when I see baby stuff, I am grateful I don’t need it any more. When I look at babies, I just see hospitals and doctors.

I need to stay away from places like this, John. I finally got my garage cleared out. I will stick around for brunch though – Singapore Noodles for me 😊

I can understand the feeling once the junk is gone not wanting to see it return. I feel the same way. The noodles sounded good to me as well.

I’m looking at that American Flyer. We used to have one of those and I’d pull my Boston Terrier around the yard in it. Good memories.

I’m also casting nostalgic eyes on that American Flyer.

At the coast, we had a brand new American flyer to take stuff to the beach. We left it for the new owners.

Did you find any treasures, John? I have those same Christmas bears! I should be adding mine to a sale like this. Thanks for taking us along. I’m stuffed!

No treasures, Jill. There were a couple of things of interest but nothing that I couldn’t live without.

I’ll take that mirror in the furniture dept. Then I’ll dine on that XX-rare rib eye! Thanks for a fun morning, John!

Noticed the local garage sales have had tons more stuff than previous years. Guessing people had a lot of stuff build up last year since they didn’t do those. Strollers are always a good find for people since they’re typically expensive.

I think you make a good point about the amount of stuff put out.

Holy cow, John! Quite the bonanza of goodies! Hope you and The Producer found a treasure or two!

Looks like fun, John. I hope you found a treasure or two. Because of our recent moves, I’m leary of purchasing anything — though I did spot a wine rack. A necessity, don’t you think? 😊

Wine racks are a necessity for sure. Thanks, Gwen. 😊

I guess it’s true that “one man’s trash is another’s treasure,” huh, John? Lots of stuff in that sale. I’m pretty sure I could’ve added stuff to it. And what a great way to encourage residents to share!

That is a good way to look at it. Sharing for sale. Thanks, Debbie.

I went to a carboot sale this morning too. Missed out on a maiden (not of the Iron variety, meant to take my excess washing to air out) and a nice looking office chair. Prevarication doesn’t pay. I hope you found something nice. My brother and I followed up with roast beef lunch at The Bells of St. Mary’s,.a rather cool old pub. I hope your meal was enjoyable. Mike got a Black & Decker workmate very cheaply to take home tonight. Not sure if the song had any significance but I enjoyed it thanks.
Hugs

I have a Black and Decker workmate and I love it. It tucks so nicely in the garage and then ready to go to work when I am ready. Good choice. A roast beef lunch sound wonderful.

It was Quicksilver Messenger Service – Happy Trails album. Was released in 1969. (Way too far in the past for you to remember)

Our local bazaar was canceled last year, John, and this year is up in the air. That looks like so much fun. I love browsing, especially the odd furniture items and the crafty stuff. Oooh and ceramics. Lol. Looks like a fun day.

Delicious menu, John, and how fun! Our county fair and town festival have been canceled 2 years in a row now. We miss them! Hopefully, next year things will be better and they’ll be open for business. Great song, too! 🥰🎶
