Today we are going to check out four new bronzes that have been installed in Lakeway. Also, since this rutting season is here I thought you would like to see some photos of the bucks. They are everywhere and usually, they are out of sight. We are being catered by Cavalier in Austin and our entertainment is Carole King, Shania Twain, Gloria Estefan, and Celene Dion. (budget buster).
So let’s get on the bus.
Our first bronze is the new sign for Lakeway.
Here is the old sign for your reference.
Our first buck is one with determination.
Our next bronze is a family of elk placed out in front of city hall.
This is a fellow who has tangled with a bush and has has lost his sense of humor. He does have part of the bush in his antlers for a reminder.
This guy came up the drive at our house.
He seems a little put out that I’m not a doe.
The next bronze is to honor the heron outside the Tennis center.
This doe is not taking any chances. One look and she is off.
Our final bronze is in the courtyard of the Activies Center. I asked it to smile and all I got was “Wwwwhat?”
Enjoy the music and food and I hope you have a super week.
The new Lakeway sign looks great! I’ll have to show my dad these bucks…he’ll enjoy them. Have a peaceful Sunday, John.

You as well, Jill. It started off a little rocky. I wish I could figure out why that scheduler goes wacko sometimes.

The chicken and waffles looked good, but I grabbed a couple biscuits so I could walk along with you, John. Great collection today. The photos are excellent. I guess the deer know they’re protected in your driveway…unless Twiggy catches sight of them.
I hope you are having a great weekend.

Twiggy does not bark at the deer anymore. She saves herself for the UPS, FedEx, and Amazon folks. Thanks, Dan 😊

The new sign is quite impressive, but the bucks are sure full of expression today!
I’m a bit hungry this morning, so I’ll have the chicken and waffle while I take the tour again!

A nice walk will take care of those waffles for sure. Thanks, GP

I love the new logo for Lakeway. Mainly because the state is now also being referred to in the text. You really have a coherent design of the environment. Congratulations John! xx Michael

I loved that video. I’m a Carole King fan but think the others did a great job. Thank you, Liz. 😁

Loved, loved the recording of the ladies! WOW! I also loved the photos of the deer. So beautiful! In our area, we have Pronghorn antelope running free. Have a great day, my friend. 😊

Not to be Cavalier (pub) about this, but the bucks are not stopping here. Seriously, they have the run of the place to such a degree, all they’re missing is a real estate agent. I love that.
As for the tune, I had not heard this one before. What a grouping!

I had heard (Oops) that one of the bucks is a real estate agent. 😁 Thank you for your humorous comment.

Such a great rendition of one of my favourite songs. Great bronze art work in the neighbourhood. I´ll have some shrimp and grits, please. xo

Southern poutine, please! And wow, what a lot of four-point bucks (or is it eight if you count both antlers). The bronze deer were stellar. Those four ladies are my absolute favorites and I loved seeing them sing together!

Loved the signs and the photos of the bucks, John. We see more does around our neighborhood than the bucks, so those are incredible. And that video is great. I’m a fan of all of them, especially Carole and Shania. Thanks for the hospitality. 🙂

I got a kick out of some of the items on the menu (and the prices aren’t bad, either!) The bronzes are beautiful.
We have a birth control program in place for deer. The locals feel they ruin the yards and create a danger to walkers.

Yeah our pesky deer eat plants too. We plant stuff they hate. Never heard of any problem here with them in terms of walkers. The bucks will snort but we are used to that.

The deer seem to be quite accustomed to people. There were some impressive racks on some of them.

I just can’t get over how these deer have the run of the place! They just waltz on in, don’t mind me… and then go on the cruise for chicks… unbelievable.
And what beautiful harmonies those four ladies have. Wow. I had never heard this one.
Hope you Sunday was wonderful!

As a former deer hunter, many, many , many, many years ago, I enjoy seeing the deer. Nowadays, they come to our homes instead of having to spend hours in the woods looking for them. Yours are beautiful. Liked the new sign, too.

Oh, no! While the deer in your neck of the woods seem to be very tame (a far cry from how it is here), would a buck let a human help out? Probably not…

So glad I found a few extra minutes to swing by here today to catch your Neighborhood post. I just love these, and was not happy that I’d missed it yesterday. But I’m pretty sure I couldn’t have enjoyed it more than I did just now. What a wonderful neighborhood you live it. The bronzes were all fun, but those BUCKS!! I can’t imagine having them wandering through an area like that. Even my friends who live in the country don’t see that many. They are so beautiful!
Thanks for sharing the pics, John, and I’m hoping that I’m better able to keep up with all my favorite blogs in 2022 than I have been this year!

Great collection! Made by local artistes?
LikeLiked by 1 person
No. Commissioned work. The artists have not been identified yet. Many times the works are donated and the artist doesn’t want high paying clients to know they are handing out their art for free.
