Thursday – A Little Personal – The Yard Again.

“Look out, Lucy. Looks like a snake to me.”

“Pretty skinny snake, Little One.”

“Yeah, but it sure is long.”

“It’s not moving. So maybe it’s something else.”

“Like what can it be?”

“Let me give it the once over.”

“Be careful. It seems to go on forever.”

“No talking while I sneak up on this thing.”

“Okay, but I think I know what it is.”

“I’ve seen this before. It’s attached to something.”

“You are so smart, Lucy. What is this thing anyway?”

“It says S-U-N-J-O-E. I wonder who that is?”

“You know it has something to do with dad’s leaf obsession. There he is.”

“I think it’s the picker-upper., but let’s ask.”

“Hey, dad, what is this thing?”

“Yeah, Boss. We want to know.”

“Well, ladies, it is a leaf vacuum. It picks up the leaves.”

“I knew it, Little one.”

“You are so smart, Lucy.”

Seems like the girls are discovering the joys of gadgets which are seemingly known to all men. 😉

That’s a heck of a lead on there, John. Don’t they do a rechargeable, cordless version?

They do, Keith but they are not powerful enough. I could go with gas but hate that. I have cordless trimmers, saws and a blower but sadly the vac is corded. (100 feet of it)

Meanwhile, now I’ve had a shed put in the garden I need to run a permanent extension out to it and completely re-lay Robbie’s power feed as well as his perimeter wire. And all this for a lawn that now measures less than 400 square feet!

The size will make it easy to run a perimeter wire. BTW what happened to hiring those needing work for your lawn care. (Maybe Robbie used to work at IBM)

They have seen this stuff before but when they came out before I was totally finished, I just followed them and snapped the photos. They went back inside, so I didn’t get a reaction to turning it on. (I can imagine they both would have bolted for the door) Thanks, Pamela.

We don’t have a leaf picker-upper but a blower. Used to blow the leaves into huge piles, but then had to load them into large bags to be taken to the local dump. In Chapel Hill, you can blow or rake your leaves into the street and they come and vac them up.
Smart gal, that Lucy. Glad Twigge didn’t decide to bite ‘the snake.”

It is very noisy. I do it at 8:01 in the morning which is one minute after the legal noise time. My neighbor has a crew that show up at 7:30 Monday mornings. They are seldom there since they live in Houston. I make sure to do mine when they are in their house in Lakeway. 😈 Thanks, Jo.
