Views of the Neighborhood – Easter Tour

Happy Easter, everyone. In celebration of the holiday, we are going on a brief hunt for Easter decorations in the neighborhood. We are catered today by Forthright in Austin, TX. Our entertainment is The Corrs.

Americana Breakfast – two eggs, sourdough toast with jam, hash-brown & choice of bacon, sausage, or avocado
Biscuits & Gravy – fluffy house-made biscuits with chicken sausage gravy
Breakfast Melt – your choice of bacon, ham, avocado on brioche Texas toast, scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese & chipotle mayo
Chicken & Waffles – two boneless fried chicken thighs, honey butter, pecans, maple syrup, powdered sugar
Chilaquiles Verde – fried corn tortillas tossed in salsa verde, two sunny eggs, poblano peppers, hominy, black beans, pickled onions
Pastrami Eggs Benedict – poached eggs, collard greens, sliced pastrami, pickled veg & hollandaise on English muffins
Pork Shoulder Hash – shredded al pastor pork shoulder, smashed & fried potatoes, onions, corn, black beans, cauliflower & two sunny eggs

Drinks – You name it, we’ve got it.

So, let’s get on the bus.

You may remember this from last year. However, this year has a surprise.

Wishing you all a very Happy Easter. Off for the Easter egg hunt in my garden with the neighbour’s nine-year-old daughter. Thanks for the Coors. We definitely have the same taste in music.

    I’ll take the American breakfast. Over easy with the bacon. Never tried sourdough toast. Sounds great.
    We will be l be at my sons house for brunch and dinner. 49 people. Ugg. Too many for me. I’ll find a quiet place I hope.

  They went on a long retirement and never really came back. They did an album in 2017 but haven’t heard much from them since.

I’m not going to be online much today, John, but I HAD to stop by Fiction Favorites to check out your Views of the Neighborhood post. I enjoy these SO much, and today was no exception. Loved all the decoration, but the first bunny mailbox topper made me SO envious. I can think of lots of places I’d love to put one just like it. Gorgeous. And yes, I found the two rabbits, and loved the pop-up sign. Your neighborhood continues to impress me every week! Thanks so much for sharing, John, and Happy Easter! 🐰🙏🐰

HI John, I could find the two bunnies. Gosh, American’s put up decorations for everything. It’s not like that here. We only have decorations at Christmas time.

The first display is amazing! I wonder if the homeowners created it themselves? And how do they get the bunny to pop up like that? So cool!

  Yes they did. That is a compound surrounded by a stone wall. Must be ten acres or so. The bunny is on some kind of mechanical arm.

I’ll go with the Americana Breakfast – I start most days with sourdough toast with jam. Hash-browns are always good. It’s hard to choose between bacon and avocado, but I’ll go with bacon.
