Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy and Lucy vs the Weather

“Well, little one. What do you think?”

“Whew, it is pretty hot.”

“But it is only going to get worse later.”

“I know, but that ole A/C feels pretty good.”

“Come on, let’s check out the patio.”

“You’ve got to be kidding. That place will be even hotter.”

“Yeah, I see what you mean.”

“Who turned on the blowtorch?”

“Maybe if the umbrella was open, it would be okay.”

“I’m in the shade, and it doesn’t seem much cooler.”

“Which reminds me to get off this hot concrete. I will start doing the hot foot tango in a minute.”

“If I touch my nose to the patio, it doesn’t seem that hot.”

“Yeah, it is much nicer here. ”

“You are right about the hot foot situation.”

“I don’t think the patio is going to work today.”

“Even these limestone pavers seem hot.”

“I’m going to go and smell the flowers.”

“I think you are smart. But, why do you remind me of Ferdinand the bull?”

Oh, I don’t know. Maybe it’s my gentle nature.”

“That must be it. A big thing smelling flowers has nothing to do with it.”

“I think it is going to be an inside day today. Supposed to get to 100 F degrees. That’s over 37 C degrees for our metric friends.

“I kinda like the Celcius scale. It seems so much cooler.”

“I sure hate to miss a day of playing outside.”

“Yeah, but think of the idea of no-fault napping.”

“Excellent point.”

“Mmmm, this air feels good.”

“Excuse me, ladies. Could we either go in or out? I don’t think we need to air-condition the whole block.

“Yes, dad. We are coming in.”

Can never go wrong with no-fault napping. Hoping you all (y’all?) stay cool and safe! Sending the girls ear scratches.

We broke a record here yesterday. It hit 101 degrees. I felt terrible for those who had to work outside. I’m glad the girls can enjoy the A/C. Stay cool!

Love the idea of no-fault napping! I sure wish we had A/C at the moment. For two weeks now, it’s been hot n humid Monday thru Thursday—working days—and cooler and wetter Friday thru Sunday—when hubby and I could have taken advantage of the good weather, lols. Those cooler days also wreck any acclimating our bodies have achieved in the week, ugh. Lols. Hope you and the girls stay cool, John 💕🙂

I think your weather might be worse than ours. At least when it decides to be hot it’s like hell’s back porch for months.

The bushes along the fence really have filled out. It looks nice back there. Hopefully you’re able to enjoy the backyard and patio in the evenings.

I wish I could have napped this morning. The rain has been non-stop since last night. It is frankly as perfect a napping weather as that abominable heat you are having! We won’t even hit 70 today!
Have a lovely Thursday, John, The Producer and the girls!

I know it’s like a revolving door. Makes a pet door seem like a good idea except I know Twiggy would never use it. She likes the scratch in the door attention device. Thanks, Noelle.

What would we do without A/C??? Mary and I keep wondering how her parents lived in their house in Karnes County without any. And I keep thinking of that time, when Mary and I lived there with just one small window unit in one bedroom. I can[t imagine that now any more.

It is hard to imagine. I think it is a matter of getting used to things. We are now used to air conditioning when our parents had only fans (if that)
