Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy’s New Carpet.

“There’s watermelon and Benebone to play with, Twiggy.”

“Are you missing the elephant in the room?”

“Elephant? I didn’t know you had an elephant toy.”

“Not toy, Dad. Presence, situation, big looming problem.”

“I still don’t know what you mean.”

“The carpet. It’s not the same. There’s no black and tan.”

“Oh, that? Yeah, Mom decided an all-white soft tuft would be better.”

“Better how?”

“Well, it feels good when you lay down.”

“I can vouch for that. It does feel good. What else?”

“It is very durable. Can stand up to a lot of wear.”

“You mean dog traffic.”

“Well, People too.”

“Uh-huh. I can see it goes with the couches.”

“That is true. It is like a monochromatic effect.”

“With a splash of color from my toys and those grey stairs.”

“Well, you still need those to get on the couch.”

“Yes, that is for sure. Unless they make a couch that sits on the floor, I need this.”

“So what do you think?”

“I like the softness, and I can also see if I roll around on it, the carpet will hide my hair for a while.”

“That has to be a big benefit. ”

“Okay, Dad. You’ve sold me. The carpet stays.”

“I’m sure Mom will be happy to hear that.”

“You are just humoring me, right?”

“Right.”

  1. I’m so happy for her, she’s doing so well. Women are very strong John. Doesn’t matter how many paws they have.

Love her personal steps she can climb at her leisure. And let me say, you have the loveliest home. 🙂

  4. Sometimes, change is good. It did occur to me for the first time that I’ve never known anyone with a dog color-coordinated with their decorating scheme. Very nice! (It’s maybe a good thing that Twiggy isn’t a Dalmatian.)

    1. We used to have a Twiggy colored carpet but there was a coffee accident that never was fully rectified. So now we are back to the original scheme. I had to laugh out loud at your observation on the Dalmatian. I’m glad too. Thaks for the laugh today, Linda.

    1. That she does, Gwen. She is a talker and when things don’t go her way she lets us know. Good to see you back and hope you had a great trip.

  17. She’s growing wiser. Not long ago, she never would have guessed you were humoring her. (And YES to hiding dog hair. It’s a never-ending battle here.)

Sending Twiggy belly rubs. Thanks for the smiles, John.

  19. It looks nice. It’s always the best to have a soft carpet to lay on. I could never get Diva Dog to use the stairs she always preferred jumping up even after she pulled a muscle in one leg she still wouldn’t use the stairs. 🤷‍♀️

    1. Twiggy had a torn ACL so jumping was not an approved activity. She does enjoy her stairs

  22. LOL. I got a kick out of the hair comment, John. Someone once told me they tried to wear clothes the color of their pet, because of the hair. The idea didn’t help me at all, since I had a tuxedo cat at the time. I couldn’t win. Or the gray tabby with a white belly. I was certain that cat could shed selectively (belly or back) so his hair would show on my clothes.
Wriggle your toes in the cushy rug and enjoy the simple pleasures. Hugs.

  36. I’m glad to hear Twiggy is focusing on the new carpet, rather than the obvious elephant-in-the-room, Lucy’s absence. She’s a plucky little pup, and with your help, she’ll mend nicely. I do like the new color scheme — and I can see it goes well with the rest of the decor. By the way, is there any thought of adopting another pup, or is one enough for now?
