“Why the irritated look?”
“I would love to go outside, but it’s so hot.”

“That is for sure, Little one. Still in the 100s F and above 39 C.”
“How about going out the garage door then?”

“You’ve got to be kidding. It’s even worse in the garage.”
“Yeah, but think about the adventure.”

“The adventure? It is downright dangerous.”
“Not for a wiley seasoned pro warrior.”

“That is you, I suppose.”
“Darned right. Now open that door, and I’ll show you.”

“Sorry, but I won’t be responsible for your demise.”
“I’ll sign a waiver. You won’t be responsible.”

“I used the word responsible but meant I want to save you from injury.”
“Well, that is a different thought.”

“So let’s go and play with Bee Mine.”
“I’m still stuck on that part about saving me.”
“That’s my job. Also, I love you.”
“I know. Okay, let’s do the Bee Mine.”

I’ve noticed a few people walking bootie-wearing dogs recently. Those who can’t get out very early or relatively late have to take some precautions. Ask Twiggy how she’d feel about wearing foot protection!
LikeLiked by 1 person
She has put her foot down. No boots. We only walk her in the morning. In the evening she gets to ride in a doggie buggy just to get out. The buggy is necessary since she has a torn ACL and has to take it easy. Only one slow walk a day. Thanks, Linda.

That is awful hot, John. I bet you are all going stir-crazy in your efforts to not come to an early demise in that heat! Keep trying to stay cool!

Looks like late September before a break. We have broken the all time record for days over 100 degrees F (27)

Oh my gawd… I am so sorry. I could not live in those temps. That is nuts. and 100 is 37, not 27 – 27 is a beautiful and perfect 80 😉

I’m trying to stay indoors as much as possible. I’ve heard we may have a reprieve next week. (High 90s instead of triple digits.) Guess anything is welcome. Miss Twiggy, you listen to Dad. He knows best.

I’m so sick of this heat. My dog balks at going out during the day. He explores the yard at night… when it’s close to 80. I’m glad you’re looking out for Twiggy. Give her belly rubs from me.

Sorry to hear about the torn ACL. The heat makes walking a dog impossible unless it’s so early in the morning you can hardly keep your eyes open. We are enjoying a week in the 80s here- what a relief, but I know it won’t last. Head scritches to the lovely Twiggy.

Oh, gosh–the garage in this heat. My husband keeps a thermometer in our garage. Last night he had to go out there to get something, came back inside and said, “It’s 96 in the garage!” So what’s your point, buddy boy? Of course, I didn’t say that out loud…
Totally unrelated but for some reason my phone gives me the daily temperature readings in the Dallas Arts District. We’re hot here in the FL Panhandle, but the Dallas temps always beat us. You and Twiggy be cool!

96 would feel cool. My phone gives me Cupertino where it is 72 when it is 103 here. I don’t need that information. Thanks, Lois.

WHEW … makes me sweat just thinking about it. Scott tells me he’s moving from Texas to New Mexico, which seems to me a case of jumping ‘out of the frying pan and into the fire’, but he says the lower humidity in NM makes it more bearable.

“Bee Mine” sounds like a wise choice. Monk and I only get out early in the morning for walkies. Not that it’s been as hot as where you are, but it’s been so muggy, and I dare not force Monk to endure it. Not with all his furs!

Twiggy looks a little frustrated. 🙂 Sorry about the heat. Ours continues for the next ten days (at least) too. Actually, we’ve had a balmy 98 for two days, but still no measurable rain — and this is monsoon season, but soaring back above 100 after that “wintry” short break. Take care, John. Hugs.
