I’m a little early with the Halloween tour, but I will be offline at a granddaughter’s wedding in New York next weekend. So, we are going to tour the neighborhood this week. We are catered by Asti Trattoria of Austin, and our entertainment is Ray Parker Jr.
Menu
ASTI Benedict – focaccia / prosciutto / poached egg / hollandaise / dressed greens
sub smoked salmon
Shakshukaarrabiatta – house ground sausage / baked eggs / parmesan / pecorino / grilled focaccia
Egg White Frittata – roasted romanesco / blistered tomato / butternut squash / fontina / arugula salad
Italian Toast – focaccia / sweet ricotta / lemon curd / merengue / candied rosemary
Shrimp & Polenta – red eye gravy / shaved parmesan
Chicken Cutlet Parmesan – capellini / lemon / capers / garlic / tomato fresca

So let’s get on the Halloween bus (if you dare)

A coven of witches.

A dangerous spider.

A cute turtle,

Purple witch.

Graveyard and witches.

A pterodactyl.

Don’t know what this is.

The famous Halloween house is all decked out.

Two orange skellies and a dog.

Tall mummy.

Cute ladies.

Ghosts on a wall.

Strange hitchhiker.

Pucci man.

The University of Texas fans and their kids.

It’s the largest spider ever.

Spiders and bats.

On our way.
That is the tour. Sit back and enjoy the music and food. I hope you have a super week.

Hi John, a fantastic display. The unknown creature looks like a mad squirrel to me.

Ground sausage, please (name was too long to write). I vote for the caldron of witches. Enjoy the wedding. New York City?

I had the shrimp while we ambled along and I think that one statue is a zombie squirrel, eh?

Yes I think everyone agrees that it is a zombie squirrel. Thanks, GP.

The Italian Toast sounds really good; I’ll have that. The zombie squirrel is just…wrong. I loved watching the “Ghostbusters” video. It sure is ’80s!!

Amazing Halloween decorations, John, and I can’t figure out the squirrel decoration either (what he’s eating). Cool Ghost Busters video, and the movie DOES seem so long ago.

As always, your neighborhood posts amaze me! What a fun bunch of decorations, though I do think two of the skeletons have forgotten to use sunblock. They are definitely getting burned. (I’d say they were in danger of developing skin cancer from that, except for the part where they don’t actually have any skin!)
Thanks for the smiles, John! Have a great week ahead! 😀 ❤

Love that Halloween bus. Are you able to park it with your regular bus along side your house ?
PS. I did enjoy the pictures – you guys do a great job.

The city frowns on us parking busses by the house. We have to store them.

Wow! The neighborhood is really decked out. I wonder how long it takes the Halloween house to put everything up. Skeletons are popular this year.

They generally leave it up for most of the year. They add more to it each season.

What fun displays! We aren’t allowed to do this here because of the HOA (: – I think I’ll try the shakshukaarrabiatta – not that I can pronounce it. Do have a safe trip and wear a mask in the plane and in the airport. I think we got COVID from our last trip!

Yes, I still wear a mask when I go out. N95 for airport and plane.

There is one rebel in our HOA who goes all-out for Halloween, but otherwise, the immediate area is just a pumpkin here and there. You Texans know how to celebrate. 😄

Nothing like a double-decker Halloween bus for our tour, John! I like the UT grads and their furry kids, as well as that immense mummy. Monkey probably would disagree, as he hates those huge things (especially if they move or moan!!). Congrats to your granddaughter on her upcoming nuptials — enjoy the festivities!

Last things first, I hadn’t heard that classic in ages! Now it’s going to be an earworm, and that’s plenty okay with me.
Imma take an ASTI Benedict as I stroll the grounds. I love the lights and the coffins and skeletons don’t scare me in the least . . not even the gigantic spider. But the coven, that’s a big fat nope. Witches in general, they would have me flooring that scary bus for anywhere but there.

Wonderful tour … your neighbors sure do know how to do it up right!!! Perhaps I shouldn’t have done the tour right before going to bed, though … if the spiders ‘n witches ‘n skellies don’t invade my sleep, I think the ASTI Benedict might! Fun post, John … thank you!!!
