“Hey Tempeste. Look at you.”
“I know. No cone. I feel free.”

“As free as you can be with that anchor on your rear.”
“That was the condition of the cone removal. Leash at all times.”

“That puts a damper on the ruckus.”
“Yeah, but it is still nice to be together.”

“You are right. Not being able to play has been a real downer.”
“Let me tell you a secret.”

“Okay, I’m listening.”
“When Dad isn’t paying attention, I can make a big tug, and then we can run free.”

“The only problem with that plan is you could get hurt.”
“Oh, come on. We have done it hundreds of times.”

“Yes, but not with your tender nose and stitches from the spay.”
“Oh yeah. You were going to explain what a spay is.”

“Yeah, I was. Hmm, let me see. Hey Dad, can you explain spay to Tempeste?”
“Sure. Being spayed means you won’t be having babies.”

“That was as clear as mud, Dad.”
“So, Dad. You and Mom are made sure I don’t bring unwanted babies into the world?”

“Boy, Dad. This kid is a little advanced for her age.”
“You would do well to get on the internet a little Twiggy.”
“In answer to your question, Tempeste, yes, we want you to be healthy and live a long life without the complications of having puppies.”
“I appreciate that, Dad. By the way. How are puppies made?”

OK, Dad, lets see you explain that one!

Time for the birds and the bees and the dogs talk? Already? Kids grow so fast these days.
Glad she’s healing so well. They’ll be frolicking together again in no time.
Good luck with “the talk” and give the girls ear scratches from me. Thanks for the smiles, John.

Tempeste has wonderful parental qualities. Kind, fun loving. It is kind of a shame. I just saw a slew of puppies running across your lawn like the Battle of Waterloo, so now I’m thinking maybe not. Nice Twiggy is being so sweet and sisterly. Who would have thought.

Twiggy is definitely getting more considerate with Tempeste. Yeah any puppies on our lawn have been rescued from a puppy mill. Thanks, Susannah.

I was expecting that last question! Must be feeling so free without the cone (even if still “attached”)!

Twiggy, as we all know, the storks bring the babies!
Or, in the case of emojis, Pink Flamingos!
Love to Tempeste and Dad!

Hmm, he could be worried about “pink dogs”, if the storks get the pink flamingos to help out.
Still, a pink dog would be adorable!

Glad Tempest has healed up nicely. Have you ever tried those donut type cones before? They work just as well and cut down on running into doors and walls.

We have a soft one but it didn’t work very well on her for some reason. Anyway the cone is now a memory. Thanks, Pete

Just don’t confuse Tempeste with any reference to snips, and snails, and puppy dog tails, or you’ll have something else to explain!

Great advice, Linda. We don’t need to bring boys into this discussion. We’ve settled on babies come from pink Flamingos so there is no more to say.

She is off the leash in the yard. She is very normal which means agility lessons start on Saturday. The energy has to be burned off.
